Donald Glover was on a Television Critics Association panel for his new FX series Atlanta, which he created and on which he stars. After the panel, Glover spoke with reporters further, including his work on the upcoming Marvel/Sony collaboration Spider-Man: Homecoming. Of course, he could not say who he plays.
“I’m not allowed to say,” Glover said. “Sworn to secrecy.”
However, Glover could and did talk a bit more about his general experience shooting Spider-Man: Homecoming. Read More »

Since leaving Community in 2014, Donald Glover has been popping up all over the big screen. He serenaded ladies in Magic Mike XXL, and helped save Matt Damon in The Martian. He even managed to book a role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming (though not, as far as we know, as the new Spider-Man). But this fall he’ll head back to the small screen with a new FX series, Atlanta.
Glover created the show and also stars as Earn Marks, a young music manager trying to make it in the Atlanta music scene with his cousin, up-and-coming rapper Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry). Also starring are Keith Stanfield and Zazie Beets as their friends. Check out the new Atlanta teaser trailer below. Read More »
After Sony decided to reboot the Spider-Man movie franchise but before Andrew Garfield was cast as Peter Parker in the movie that would become The Amazing Spider-Man, Donald Glover made it pretty clear that he would love to play the beloved wall-crawling superhero. Although he didn’t get the part, things have officially gone full circle for the actor/rapper/comedian – he is apparently looking to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming in (you guessed it) a mystery role.

There are plenty of people who are already sold on The Martian, the latest sci-fi drama from Ridley Scott. It’s one of our 30 Movies to Be Excited for Before the End of 2015, and the most recent trailer really showed how good it looks.
But 20th Century Fox still has a little over a month to go before the film hits theaters, and they’re continuing their impressive viral marketing campaign with yet another cool video focusing on the crew of the Ares 3, another manned mission to the surface of Mars. This time, famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson examines the upcoming mission in the style of the recent Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey series.

Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike was a thoughtful examination of the American dream, but of course the real draw was the gyrating hardbodies on stage. So far, Magic Mike XXL seems to be leaning into that raunchy appeal, with a marketing campaign heavy on half-naked torsos and naughty puns. Not that we’re complaining.
The newest Magic Mike XXL trailer continues in the same vein, commenting on how hard (wink wink) it was to resist showing off all the best parts (nudge nudge) of the movie. Even so, there’s plenty to enjoy here. Feast your eyes on the new Magic Mike XXL trailer after the jump. Read More »
