We might not be the target audience for Disney’s new DuckTales revival, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have opinions about it. After all, we’re the ones who grew up watching the animated adventures of Huey, Louie, Dewey, and Scrooge McDuck on television. Not to mention, some of us have kids of our own that we plan to share the new DuckTales with.
Fortunately, the DuckTales revival actually seems to be shaping up quite promisingly. The art released so far indicates that Disney has maintained the same general feel of the classic DuckTales episodes, while also tweaking it just enough to make it look fresh and modern. Today’s new image offers our first look at the new version of Launchpad McQuack, who, yeah, still looks more or less like you remember him. And a brief new teaser calls back to that old DuckTales theme song we know so well. So, when exactly will we get to see this new DuckTales? Disney has new details on that, too. Walt Disney Animation Studios has been absolutely killing it over the past few years, but so far they’ve resisted the temptation to follow up any of their big smash hits with big splashy sequels. Not even Big Hero 6 — which, as an adaptation of a Marvel comic book, seems tailor-made for a multi-film franchise — has given way to a Big Hero 7. But Disney has been very open to expanding these hot properties in other directions. Like TV, where we’ll soon see a Big Hero 6 series. Read More »

Back in the spring, we learned that Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar would be bringing her voice talents to the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels. When she was cast in the series, however, her character was kept secret.
But now that the second season premiere is almost upon us (The Siege of Lothal aired in June, as a sort of in-between “movie”), Gellar has finally been allowed to reveal who she’ll be playing. Thanks to an Instagram post of the actress wearing some familiar hair buns, many speculated she would voice Princess Leia, but that couldn’t be more wrong. Get the details on the Star Wars Rebels Sarah Michelle Gellar character after the jump! Read More »

We’ve met a few members of the Ghost crew from Star Wars Rebels already, including Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), the Han Solo-esque “cowboy Jedi”; Ezra (Taylor Gray), the 14-year-old con artist; and Zeb (Steven Blum), the intelligent muscle. But as cool as these guys look, none of ’em would stand a chance against the Empire without the proper equipment, and that’s where Sabine (voiced by Tiya Sircar) comes in.
According to the newest promo for the Disney XD series, Sabine is a “feisty” weapons expert who loves to blow things up, when she’s not creating graffiti art. She also happens to be a Mandalorian, meaning she’s from the same culture as the beloved Boba Fett. Hit the jump to watch her intro and learn more about her.
