It may not be as long-lived as The Simpsons or South Park or Family Guy, but Futurama will forever and always have a special place in our hearts. Matt Groening‘s animated sci-fi sitcom was as lovably oddball as its characters — the kind of show that can laugh at the end of the universe, wring heartfelt romance out of a Magic School Bus-esque adventure, and rib Star Trek and its fans with the affection of a fellow fan.

It’s no secret that we love great artwork inspired by film and television, and today we have a smorgasbord of fantastic new prints from three different artists for three different beloved movies from the sci-fi and fantasy genres, all of which happen to be adaptations of beloved books as well.

When Lucasfilm and Disney announced the Star Wars “Art Awakens” initiative, it was revealed they were working with Los Angeles-based art gallery Gallery1988 on an official Star Wars: The Force Awakens art show. Tomorrow night kicks off Gallery 1988’s Both Sides: An Art Show Celebrating Heroes & Villains featuring artwork by Dan Mumford and Jeff Boyes, two pop culture artists we’ve featured on the site previously. The show will also feature some “cameo” artwork from Ashton Gallagher, Chet Phillips, Clark Orr, Dave Quibble, Jeffrey Everett/Rockets are Red, Ryan Binkerhoff and Sam Gilbey. The four-city, 70-plus artist Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary art show kicks off this Saturday April 19 in New York City. Gallery 1988 is curating the event and they’ve slowly been releasing more and more looks at the show. Now it’s our turn.
/Film is proud to exclusively debut five brand new pieces from the show: Pieces by Mark Englert, Dan Mumford, Cuddly Rigor Mortis plus two super limited variants. That’s right. In addition to the commemorative series of screenprints that’ll be available in store and online, each one of those posters (by the likes of Tom Whalen, Mike Mitchell, Phantom City Creative and others) will have extra special variants that will only be sold in super limited quantities at each event. Below, you’ll get your first glimpse at two of those variants, the slimed editions of the previously revealed Anthony Petrie and Joshua Budich pieces.
