The Saturday Night Live stars are the last people you’d expect to see in an inspirational sports drama, but they’re the perfect folks to send up the inspirational sports drama subgenre. Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah, and Beck Bennett all make appearances in the first Intramural trailer, which, as the title suggests, takes on the world of intramural college sports.

The video plays like a sort of indie Dodgeball, down to a shot of a cranky, violent dude in a wheelchair barking orders at his scrappy team. Watch the new Intramural trailer after the jump.

Derrick Comedy may not be a household name quite yet, but it’s likely you’ve stumbled across some of their work before. (At the very least, you’re probably aware of its most famous member, Donald Glover.) The comedy group met as students at NYU, and quickly gained a following for their Internet videos, including “Bro Rape” and “Blowjob Girl,” featuring a pre-Office Ellie Kemper.

Derrick Comedy then made a leap to the big screen in 2009 with Mystery Team, an underrated indie comedy about three naive high school detectives who get in over their heads. Now the film’s director, Dan Eckman, has lined up a couple of new projects that’ll reunite him with some of his Derrick Comedy teammates. Read more after the jump.

The coming of age sex comedy The To Do List, formerly called The Hand Job, has been on our radar since it began to assemble a massive cast of young comedic talent. Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation, Scott Pilgrim) plays a young woman who wants to head into college with a wealth of sexual experience under her belt, and so spends her post-senior summer trying to check off items on a sexual to-do list. The latest actors to sign on for the shenanigans are Clark Gregg (Marvel Studios’ bedrock player) and Rachel Bilson (The O.C., New York, I Love You). Read More »
