Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the two madmen behind Crank, appeared on The Movie Blog Uncut and talked briefly about their upcoming adaptation of Jonah Hex.
For those of you who don’t remember, a few months ago, a photo of Thomas Jane made up to look like Jonah Hex leaked onto the internet. At first some believed it to be a concept photo for the actual film, but Neveldine and Taylor quickly denied any knowledge. Jane came out and publicly admitted that the concept photo was actually something he did on spec, in an attempt to convince Neveldine and Taylor to cast him in the film. So what is the [...]

What must it feel like to see a man in your suit parade around an electrical field? Jason Statham, sit back and put on some shades. Today, the LA Times unleashed a crop of behind-the-scenes photos for Crank 2: High Voltage. Apparently directors and /Film buds, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, have thought up a zany Godzilla-esque dream sequence for their much anticipated, free-basing sequel due April ‘09. And while it looks promising—nice stubble, check—can it possibly top Bobcat Goldthwait’s man-in-suit destruction from One Crazy Summer?
Discuss: Crank 2: High Voltage, safe for the olds? What is your favorite man-in-suit movie?
Here is a round up of stories that just didn’t make the /Film front page, or what we like to call…. Page 2!

I’m down in Albuquerque, New Mexico visiting the set of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor’s untitled Gerard Butler sci-fi action film (which is going under the codename: Game). Lakeshore Entertainment producer David Rubin was able to reveal to me a few new details about the upcoming Crank sequel. If you don’t want to know any spoilers, stop right now and proceed no further.
The big question everyone wants answered is how does Jason Statham’s character survive for a sequel to be made. When I asked Brian this question at Comic Con he started telling me about this cool video he found on You Tube where a skydiver fell to earth unable [...]
Crank is an underrated popcorn action movie. Crank succeeded where Shoot ‘Em Up sometimes failed, keeping the plot light and fun (and don’t get me wrong, I loved shoot ‘Em Up, the film sometimes had an uneven tonal h=style that sometimes reached darker areas than it probably should have). Well it’s now officially official that they are making a sequel. Of course, we all knew this was going to happen long ago when Writer-directors (I like to call them psychotic geniuses)Â Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor let word out earlier this year. The film has a new title: “Crank 2: High Voltage”.
Jason Statham has also officially signed on to return [...]
