Sausage Party Trailer

In addition to bringing some comedy to summer this weekend with Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, we’ll get more of Seth Rogen to close out the summer later this year with his raunchy animated adventure Sausage Party. The film is basically an R-rated Pixar movie following a group of friends who just so happen to be foods in a grocery store. Their lot in life is to be chosen by people and taken home in a glorious manner. But then they learn what people really do with food when they get it home, and that’s when all hell breaks loose.

A new Sausage Party trailer has arrived, and it’s basically the green band version of the red band trailer that was released a little while back. However, there are some new laughs to be had, especially at the end. Watch the new Sausage Party trailer after the jump. Read More »

SXSW tends to be a hectic time for anyone in the general vicinity of Austin, Texas, but Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg may be even busier than most this year. Not only are they premiering their new series Preacher, which hits AMC this spring, they’re also unveiling the first look at their animated film Sausage Party, in the form of a work-in-progress screening.

Described by Rogen as an “R-rated Pixar-style movie,” Sausage Party follows a bunch of food items at a grocery store who wonder about the “Great Beyond” — i.e., what happens after they get purchased. Rogen, who co-wrote the script with Goldberg, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir, voices a hot dog named Frank who falls out of a shopping cart and embarks on an eventful journey to make it back to his shelf before the Fourth of July sale. Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon directed. Morris From America

Morris From America is a wonderful and heartfelt cross-cultural coming-of-age tale about an African-American boy trying to adapt in Germany. This hip-hop-infused rite of passage story would work well in a triple feature alongside other Sundance films like Dope and The Wackness.

'This Is The End Maze

At San Diego Comic Con International 2015, Guillermo del Toro announced that there would be a Crimson Peak maze for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. It has since been revealed that Focus Features and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are teaming with Universal Studios in both Hollywood and Orlando to create all-new mazes based on the Insidious film franchise, and Halloween will come home with the Halloween: Michael Myers Comes Home maze.

Universal Studios today announces something that sounds like it could be a bit more fun than those horrifying properties — a Halloween Horror Nights maze based on the film This Is The End which starred James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. The maze will be presented in hypnotic 3D, because why not?

The end of the world will begin as guests head to the ultimate A-list party at James Franco’s new Hollywood Hills home, before the Apocalypse strikes and they find themselves trapped in a life-and-death struggle against the demons of the underworld. With the fate of humanity at the crossroads of heaven and hell, “This is the End 3D” will offer defining moments for those guests brave enough to tempt the devil as their destiny hangs in the balance to be damned for eternity or raptured to heaven engulfed in a sea of blue light.

See a trailer and learn more about the Halloween Horror Nights’ This Is The End maze after the jump.

Update from Editor Peter Sciretta: Table 19 is a project I’ve been tracking since 2009.

Originally The Duplass Brothers were set to direct their script for Fox Searchlight and producer Jason Reitman, but director Jeffrey Blitz will be helming the movie instead, and he is now reuniting with his Rocket Science star Anna Kendrick. There is so much awesome in that last sentence, and I’m very excited to see this movie finally come to fruition.  The film, which begins shooting next week in Atlanta, also stars Craig Robinson, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant, Tony Revolori, June Squibb, Wyatt Russell and Amanda Crew.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 trailer

Were you too scared to click on the red-band Hot Tub Time Machine 2 trailer from July? Well, a green band trailer is now here and you can finally see what’s in store for the good friends who find a time machine.

This time around, the characters played by Craig Robinson, Clark Duke and Rob Corddry misuse their amazing toy and decide to go back into the past to fix the problems they create. They mistakenly end up in the future, though, alongside the son of the character played by John Cusack in the first film (Cusack isn’t back here), played by Adam Scott. Now they have to worry not only about the past, but the present, which is also the past in the future. Then it gets even crazier than that.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 opens February 20 and you can watch the new trailer and see the new poster below. Read More »
