The Strain S2 trailer

This full trailer for the new season of The Strain is full of big makeup and effects shots, and a promise that the show’s concept of Manhattan overrun by vampires will really boil over into insanity this year. And that’s half of what we want to see from the show; the other half is something that’s harder to get across in a one-minute trailer, and that’s further character development. But we’ll take the thrill of the effects for now. Check out The Strain S2 trailer below. Read More »

Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe concludes on July 17 as the world’s tiniest superhero finally hits the big screen. Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed, is finally coming after years of development, and the first trailer for the film is here.

Paul Rudd plays Scott Lang, a thief who teams up with genius Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to attempt to hide Pym’s incredible technology which can shrink him to the size of an ant. The film co-stars Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Judy Greer.

Ant-Man Comic Con header

In case you missed the news last week, there’s a good chance we’ll see the first Ant-Man trailer sometime next week. The trailer was classified, meaning it’s on the way, and the prevailing thought is it could debut during the premiere of Agent Carter on January 6.

So what will we see in that trailer? Paul Rudd as Ant-Man is a pretty good bet. Maybe even Michael Douglas as his predecessor and mentor Hank Pym or Pym’s daughter played by Evangeline Lilly. One character you probably won’t see is Yellow Jacket, played by Corey Stoll. He’s the film’s villain and probably kind of a major reveal over the course of the movie.

Whether or not we’ll see the character in the trailer, a new promotional banner has been revealed that shows the black and yellow menace in his full glory. Below, check out the Yellow Jacket Ant Man movie image. Read More »

The Good Lie trailer

Just a few hours after the Dear White People trailer landed online, The Good Lie trailer has arrived to give us a perfect example of the kind of film Dear White People is mocking.

Directed by Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar), the fact-based drama stars Reese Witherspoon as an American woman who opens her heart to three helpless Sudanese refugees (played by Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany, and Emmanuel Jal). As she forges an unlikely friendship with these men, she learns some Very Important Life Lessons in the process.

To be totally fair, I haven’t actually seen the movie yet so there’s always a chance this will turn out to be slightly more nuanced than your typical white savior saga. But considering it’s advertised as being “by the executive producer of The Blind Side,” I’m not super optimistic. Watch The Good Lie trailer after the jump.

This Is where I Leave You trailer

If nothing else, This is Where I Leaves You earns a peek for its cast alone. Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard and Jane Fonda are just a few of the names in this adaptation of a novel by Jonathan Tropper. In the story, a dysfunctional family is forced to reunite for a whole week when their father dies. Old feuds become newly inflamed, passions are ignited, and all kinds of other madness ensues.

But This I Where I Leave You isn’t a straight up, sad drama. There are laughs too, as evidenced not only by director Shawn Levy being at the helm, but the brand new trailer. Check out the first This Is Where I Leave You Trailer below. Read More »
