Here’s an international trailer for the supernatural thriller Solace, which stars Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins as the leads in a plot that features two men, both with psychic abilities, on opposite sides of the law. Hopkins plays the good guy, a former doctor who ends up on the trailer of the killer, played by Farrell.
Interestingly, Solace, which hired Afonso Poyart to direct in 2012 and has been on the shelf for at least a year, was once conceived as a sequel to Se7en. Ted Griffin’s original spec script was rewritten so that the character now played by Hopkins could be William Somerset, played in Se7en by Morgan Freeman.
Things didn’t work out for that version, and it reverted to something a bit closer to Griffin’s original conception. Check out the Solace trailer below. Read More »

The cast of the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has quite an eclectic array of talent on board so far, but the cast has just added another interesting name.
This season’s True Detective co-lead Colin Farrell has just signed on to the Warner Bros. project that finds Eddie Redmayne playing Newt Scamander, a wizard venturing around the magical world documenting magical creatures for his book, 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter film franchise. Find out more about Colin Farrell joining Fantastic Beasts after the jump! Read More »
The first episode of True Detective‘s second season has aired, and the internet is already working double-time to react to the show’s return. Is it better than the first season, or even as good? Early reviews have some insight, but even they can’t make a definitive claim yet, as HBO only offered access to the first three of eight episodes. Whatever the show is at the opening, there’s a lot left to see.
HBO has offered something new to follow up the season premiere: a brief True Detective behind the scenes look, which features interviews with new stars Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch. Exec producer Scott Stephens shows up, too. You’ll see creator/writer Nic PIzzolatto at work, but he doesn’t appear as an interview; rather, the show is meant to be his voice. Read More »
There’s a set of four new True Detective season 2 character posters, but they almost do more to obscure the quartet of new leads than they do to reveal them. We see the new leads Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams, Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn, but their eyes are all cropped out of each image. There’s an ominous tagline, “We get the world we deserve,” and with these designs we have to wonder if any of these characters can see that new world coming.
See those posters below, and get some comments from creator/writer/producer Nic Pizzolatto about the new season. Read More »
True Detective season two will premiere on June 21 on HBO, and now you can see the first footage from the new season. This tease doesn’t offer much, but the very first shot of a California highway interchange seems to link right to early reports about the season. Then there are shots of the primary cast, including Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch, with some atmosphere that is similar to that of the first season — this looks just as heavy — but with a feel that is distinctly different. Check out the first True Detective S2 teaser below. Read More »

We’re back here again. It’s been a week full of rumors, as talk swirls about who will be in WB’s next DC movie, Suicide Squad, and whether or not Jena Malone is in Batman v Superman. (As it turns out, she is.) On the Marvel side the talk has all been about Doctor Strange. While we once thought Joaquin Phoenix might sign to star in the picture, he moved on. Other names have been floated, with Keanu Reeves coming up more and more often. Another new one is in the mix: Colin Farrell. How could Farrell be Strange if he also has a full season of True Detective to shoot? Timing is everything.
Update: Like John Wick going after his enemies, Keanu Reeves has started to kill rumor talk about Doctor Strange, saying he hasn’t been approached. We have his quotes after the original story below.

It really is impressive how versatile Jessica Chastain is. As her Oscar nominations will attest, she’s equally convincing as a bubbly Southern misfit as she is a hardened CIA agent. Now she looks poised to knock our socks off again in the new Miss Julie trailer.
Chastain plays the title character, an upper-class woman with a self-destructive streak. She falls into a toxic affair with her father’s valet, the ambitious John (Colin Farrell). Caught in the crossfire are bystanders like Christine (Samantha Morton), John’s fiancee. Watch the Miss Julie trailer after the jump.
