This week cameras begin to roll on a heist film called The Black Marks, which has a cast led by Kurt Russell, with Matt Dillon, Chris Diamantopoulos and Jay Baruchel in supporting roles. Jonathan Sobol wrote and is directing the story of a group of thieves led by a former motorcycle daredevil (Russell) who go after one last big score.

Now the film has added more supporting players: Terence Stamp, Katheryn Winnick and Kenneth Welsh. Read More »

I’d like you all to do something for me. When you watch this trailer for Peter and Bobby Farrelly‘s The Three Stooges, I’d like you to picture Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro in the roles that are now occupied by Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, and Chris Diamantopoulos. Because the fact that Penn, Carrey and Del Toro had even thought about doing this movie is totally insane, seeing what eventually came out of the project. I’m sure what they would have made might not have borne much of a likeness to this, because it couldn’t have been the disaster that this appears to be. But it’s fun to think about — a lot more fun than you’ll get out of this trailer, I bet. Read More »

Only hours after the news that Bobby and Peter Farrelly are moving forward with a sequel to Dumb and Dumber, we’ve got the first real look at the Farrellys’ new Stooges. Here are Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Sean Hayes as Curly, Moe and Larry in The Three Stooges. I invite you to compare and contrast Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe in this pic, and old shots of Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber. There’s a certain family resemblance, I think. Check out a full image of the trio below. Read More »

Fox’s upcoming The Three Stooges, a long-time dream project of comedy directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly, is an object of curiosity for me. The movie has bounced through a couple studios, and once almost rolled with a high-profile cast that included Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benecio del Toro. Things fell apart, and early this year the project landed at Fox. Then it moved quickly, assembling a cast that includes Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe Howard, Sean Hayes as Larry Fine, Will Sasso as Curly Howard, and Jane Lynch, Larry David (playing a nun!), Sofía Vergara, Jennifer Hudson, Stephen Collins, and Carly Craig.

We’ve seen a few set photos and little else. Now there is a poster image of sorts, but it shies away from really revealing the new Stooges. (Even the old banner above shows more.) Check it out below. Read More »

I’m very curious to see what Peter and Bobby Farrelly have done with The Three Stooges, which is a film they’ve wanted to make for years, and eventually shot early this year in Atlanta with Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, and Will Sasso as Curly. Have they come up with something that will have any of the iconic comic appeal of the original Stooges? That seems impossible, given the fact that they’re making this film in a totally different comedy landscape. Turns out that we’ll find out what they’ve done with it in April of next year. I know that you’re just burning up with curiosity about progress on the Farrelly Brothers new The Three Stooges and Adam Shankman‘s film version of the stage musical Rock of Ages. So here are some on-set snaps from both films. The Rock of Ages pics show off the film’s very ’80s costumes, while the Three Stooges images give us our first (relatively bad) looks at the new Moe (Chris Diamantopoulos) and Larry (Sean Hayes), but there are also images of Sofia Vergara, and even though they show her made up to be battered and bruised, I imagine no one is going to complain about those. See ‘em all after the break. Read More »

There’s been a lot of talk in Atlanta over the past couple weeks about The Three Stooges, which Peter and Bobby Farrelly are crewing up to start shooting in a couple weeks, but which hadn’t yet locked down the third lead. We know that Will Sasso will play Curly, Sean Hayes will play Larry, and a few other smaller parts are cast as well. (Sofia Vergara will be a ‘femme fatale’ in the second of the film’s three short stories.)

Now it appears that Chris Diamantopoulos, who had a recurring part on the last season of 24, will be the ‘discovery’ to play Moe. Read More »
