It Chapter 2 changes

Even though the It sequel still hasn’t been given the official greenlight, Andy Muschietti‘s adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel absolutely crushed the box office during its opening weekend, so it’s only a matter of time until the studio stakes out some ground on the calendar for It: Chapter Two. A writer is already working on the screenplay for the sequel, and now we have some details about a significant change the follow-up will make to one of the members of the Losers’ Club, the group of kids who serve as the protagonists in the first film and will reunite as adults in the second.

The version of Mike Hanlon we’ll see in It: Chapter Two will be very different from the one we just met in this new film, and he’ll even be considerably altered from the character that appeared in King’s original novel.

The It Losers Club Interview

Some kids spend the summer playing video games. Others go to camp. But for the young cast of It, the summer of 2016 was spent battling an evil entity that takes on the form of a clown so it can prey on the children of Derry, Maine.

And just about all of them called it the best summer of their lives.

When we visited the set of director Andy Muschietti‘s adaptation of Stephen King‘s classic horror novel last year, we were able to meet the entire “Losers’ Club,” the ensemble of young misfits and dorks who come together to battle Pennywise the Dancing Clown and its various other hideous guises. As you’d expect from seven young kids working on a horror movie set, they had stories to share…and no filter to keep them from being interesting.

Losers Club, It

I’m about 50 pages away from finishing Stephen King’s 1986 novel It, and holy crap, this book is tremendous. Without hyperbole, it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. Rarely have I read a novel in which I’ve felt so firmly in the grip of a master storyteller – and I wasn’t crazy about the first Dark Tower book, so that praise isn’t coming from a fawning King devotee, either.

We’ve already seen a handful of photos from the upcoming film adaptation directed by Andres Muschietti, but a new batch of photos show off glimpses of the terrifying clown Pennywise (the “It” of the title) and our first look at the Losers Club, the group of outcast kids in Derry, Maine who come face to face with their worst nightmare.
