There was a time when it looked like Kick-Ass 2 might never happen, but now the film opens in just over a week. We’ve seen quite a few trailers, some clips, and a behind the scenes look or two. But if you want one more glimpse at the film before it opens, check out this red-band featurette. There’s some new footage here for your enjoyment, as well as a bit of gore and (of course) plenty of cussin’. Read More »

If there was one upside to the first Kick-Ass 2 trailer being a bit underwhelming, it’s that the marketing has had nowhere to go but up. The film’s looked better and better with each successive trailer, and the one that hit at Comic-Con was the most badass (or kick-ass, if you want to go there) yet.
Today, we have yet another new look at the film, in the form of 10 minutes of B-roll from the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel. The reels feature quite a few moments we haven’t seen in any of the previous promos, including some smaller character moments and some better looks at the new heroes and villains in action. Check ’em out after the jump.

In the previous trailers for Kick-Ass 2, something seemed to be missing. This is most certainly a sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s film, sure. All the characters are there; the story is a continuation of the first chapter; and new heroes and villains are introduced. Yet something felt off. Writer/director Jeff Wadlow came into San Diego Comic-Con today hoping to change that.
He, along with stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (and Chloe Grace Moretz via satellite) premiered a brand new extended trailer that expands what we’ve already seen from Kick-Ass 2. Significantly. Now the film is starting to look like the kick-ass sequel we’re hoping for.
Below, watch the new trailer and read about the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Read More »

Chloë Grace Moretz has never been one to shy away from edgy roles, starting with her breakthrough turn as violent, foul-mouthed Hit-Girl in 2010’s Kick-Ass. Even so, her latest gig is bound to raise some eyebrows.
The 16-year-old actress will play a young prostitute in The Equalizer, Antoine Fuqua‘s big-screen adaptation of the ’80s TV series. Moretz joins Denzel Washington, who leads as a retired secret agent with a dark past. Hit the jump to find out how Moretz wound up with the part.

If you’ve watched the red-band trailer for Jeff Wadlow‘s Kick-Ass 2, this new all-ages version isn’t going to do much for you. This is really just the red-band trailer with all the most offensive stuff cut out. So there’s a bit less footage of the character played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and a bit more of Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz), both in and out of costume. Even the last two kicker scenes — the place where a new trailer might usually break out the new material — are the same.
But if you want to see footage from Kick-Ass 2 and have some aversion to violence or cursing (no, I know — that wouldn’t make any sense) then check out the trailer below. For a better, different look, check out the “Hit-Girl goes to high school” trailer. Read More »

A couple generations after Brian de Palma first brought it to the big screen, Stephen King‘s Carrie is getting a new cinematic interpretation this fall by director Kimberly Peirce. The first teaser trailer hit all the way back last year, and we’ve had plenty of blood-soaked posters since then, but now we finally have a full-length trailer that offers a better idea of Peirce’s updated vision.
This version of the tale stars Chloë Grace Moretz as the telekinetic teen, and Julianne Moore as her unhinged religious mother. Gabriella Wilde, Portia Doubleday, Ansel Elgort, Alex Russell, and Judy Greer also appear. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.
Sequel Bits: ‘Captain America’, ‘Red 2′, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Atlas Shrugged’, ‘Despicable Me 2′, ‘Kick-Ass 2′

The series might be named after Kick-Ass, but it was Hit-Girl who stole every scene in the last installment. The deadly young superheroine takes center stage in the new international trailer for Kick-Ass 2, which sees Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) teaming up with the costumed hero league Justice Forever. Watch it after the jump.

The first Kick-Ass featured but a handful of costumed heroes and villains, but Kick-Ass 2 will introduce us to a whole lot more. The Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel sees Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) joining forces with the do-gooder team Justice Forever, while Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) refashions himself The Mother Fucker and amasses an evil army of his own.
A new series of character posters offers a closer look at the three returning players, while introducing us to three new faces: Mother Russia (Olga Kurkulina) and Black Death (Daniel Kaluuya) on the side of bad, and Night-Bitch (Lindy Booth) on the side of good. Check them out after the jump, but be warned that Red Mist’s new name makes them NSFW for language.
