Ghostbusters Trailer

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s new Ghostbusters trailer, an international trailer has debuted online, and it shows a bunch of new footage that we haven’t seen yet. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones can be seen kicking some major ghost tail, but we also get to see them trying out the proton stream as a method of catching ghosts for the first time. Plus, we get to see more of just how dimwitted Chris Hemworth’s character really is.

Ghostbusters reboot girl power

Whether you like it or not, the reboot of Ghostbusters is happening. It’s one thing to simply not want a movie that you love to get remade, but it’s another to be belligerent about the fact that the movie is utilizing four females in the lead role as the title paranormal investigators and exterminators.

While some merely don’t like the talent involved, whether it’s director Paul Feig or stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, sadly, there are many chauvinistic fans out there who simply can’t accept the fact that four women are leading a Ghostbusters movie.

And as a way to fire back at all the haters our there, McCarthy has just posted a picture on Instagram that shows there are plenty more women working on the movie than the four leading ladies. Check out the Ghostbusters reboot girl power below! Read More »

Staten Island Summer trailer

There are plenty of movies hitting the big screen this summer, but it looks like one of this season’s gems may not be in theaters. Netflix is releasing the indie comedy Staten Island Summer on the streaming service at the end of the month, and this looks like a hilarious coming-of-age comedy.

Saturday Night Live creator and showrunner Lorne Michaels produced the film that features a cavalcade of cameos from his own discoveries such as Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong. But at the core of the story are two teens on the verge of figuring out adulthood. And you can see the amusing results of that in the first Staten Island Summer trailer after the jump. Read More »

Staten Island Summer

For those who don’t know, I’m a massive fan of Saturday Night Live. The show has been a favorite since I was a kid. Even though it was the early 90s when I became sucked in by Wayne’s World and Chris Farley, I’ve stuck with the show ever since, through all their ups and downs, and have soaked up everything I can about its history. I’ve read countless books and articles, watched countless old sketches form before my time, and just can’t get enough of SNL.

Therefore, I’m very pleased to report (via The Wrap) that Netflix is closing a deal with Paramount Insurge to pick up a new comedy called Staten Island Summer. What does this have to do with SNL? Hit the jump and find out! Read More »

We have an idea of what those roles are and now we have an idea of a fifth, key role in the film. A role that might be played by Saturday Night Live actress Cecily Strong.
