By now you’ve probably seen the teaser trailer for the Steven Spielberg-produced JJ Abrams-directed sci-fi film Super 8. If you haven’t, please click the link before reading on. What we know so far about the project can fit into a few sentences. The actual movie has something to do with “the possibility that a group of kids in 1979 are playing around making movies with their Super 8 cameras (as Abrams and Spielberg did as kids) and accidentally capture something … sinister, on film.”
We know that the movie is an homage to Spielberg’s 1970’s/1980’s Amblin films, like Close Encounters of a Third Kind and E.T. Could it be that the teaser trailer for Super 8 was inspired by Spielberg’s first experience at a movie theater?
