Rumor: Christoph Waltz Is Blofeld in ‘Bond 24′

When Christoph Waltz was said to be set for a role in Bond 24, one character name likely leapt to mind for long-time James Bond fans: Ernst Stavro Blofeld. The character was vaguely introduced in From Russia With Love (1963) but we didn’t see his face until Donald Pleasence played him in You Only Live Twice in 1967. Blofeld has not appeared in an official Bond film since 1981 due to a rights dispute. But that conflict, with the estate of the late producer Kevin McClory, was resolved months ago, putting Blofeld and his organization SPECTRE back into the realm of possibility for a Bond film.  Read More »

We don’t know the actual title of the film yet, but with shooting set to commence in just a few weeks expect a splashy press conference with that detail and many other bits of information. Hoyte Van Hoytema Bond 24

Normally we’d have a large measure of sympathy for anyone who had to take over a job following Roger Deakins. And since Deakins isn’t shooting the new Bond film, someone has to step into his shoes. But the person to take over the job shooting Bond 24 is Hoyte van Hoytema, who did such a tremendous job with Her, and then shot Interstellar for Christopher Nolan.
