Animated Spider-Man cast

Amid all the hubbub about Phil Lord and Chris Miller leaving the Han Solo movie, I’d completely forgotten that they were involved with an animated Spider-Man film across town at Sony Pictures Animation. That project just scored a couple of solid additions to its voice cast, as Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) and actor Brian Tyree Henry (who plays rapper Paper Boi on Donald Glover’s FX series Atlanta) have officially come on board. ‘Spider-Man’ Animated Movie Gets Director

As shooting gets underway on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony is taking a big step forward with its other upcoming feature about the webslinger. Sony Pictures Animation announced today that Bob Persichetti will direct the Spider-Man animated movie first announced last year. LEGO Rival Playmobil Announces Title of First Movie

In case you didn’t know, Danish toy company and LEGO rival Playmobil has been developing their own feature film in an effort to duplicate the success of Warner Bros. Animation’s hit The LEGO Movie, and the movie has just been given a title.

Playmobil’s first big screen venture will be called Playmobil: Robbers, Thieves & Rebels, and this is just the beginning of the toy company’s plans to bring their figures and playsets to movie theaters. Read More »
