At the movies, Marvel is currently kicking DC’s ass. Yes Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies were fantastic. Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was a very strong start to the development of a potentially bigger world. But Marvel is already in Phase 2 of a cinematic universe, is setting up Phase 3, has a TV show that ties in on the air, with four more shows announced.
DC has Arrow, with a version of the Flash set to debut on that show, but those guys are unrelated to the big-screen heroes. Then there’s Batman vs. Superman on the horizon, but besides some rumors of hypothetical Flash and Justice League films, that’s it for the big screen in the near future.
If we are to believe Guillermo del Toro though, they have a very big plan, we just don’t know all about it yet. The director is attached to a potential DC film called Justice League Dark, which will feature Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre and others. He said DC is planning an “entire DC universe” including movies, TV and more. Read More »

Talk is heating up about the possibility that Wonder Woman will show up in Zack Snyder‘s Batman vs. Superman. Rumors say that Jaimie Alexander was testing for a role in the film, even though her contract with Marvel makes any major role unlikely, and the particulars of her comments led to the idea that she was talking about Wonder Woman.
Now we know that three other actresses — Gal Gadot (Fast 6), Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) — are testing or have tested for the lead female role in the film. Is that going to be a romantic interest for Bruce Wayne, or is the “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic” character going to be Wonder Woman? Read More »
Before Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, much of the conversation surrounded Joseph Gordon-Levitt being Robin. Rumors said “Yes,” other sources said “No,” and in the end the answer was, kind of, both. His name was Robin, but not the Batman sidekick we all remember.
