Let’s skip the usual blather about whether 2016 was a good year for movies or a bad year for movies and just get right to it, shall we? I saw a lot of films in 2016. Here were some of my very favorites.

The long-promised R-rated “Ultimate Edition” of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits Blu-ray this week, so what better time to revisit this year’s most polarizing superhero movie? The Emmy-nominated Honest Trailers series is back at it again with their take on “the blockbuster that united the world’s two biggest superheroes and divided everyone else.” Watch the Batman v Superman Honest Trailer below.

Today brings Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Ultimate Edition to Digital HD, so you can finally see if the 30 extra minutes of footage does anything to improve Zack Snyder‘s superhero battle. For those who liked the movie, it will probably just give you more footage to sink your teeth into. But for those who didn’t like the theatrical cut, they’re hoping it will fix at least some of the problems they had the first time around.
Now you can get a little taste of some of the extra footage and edits made to the film as the first 10 minutes of Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition have been made available online. That’s the entire sequence with Bruce Wayne’s parents dying, as well as his witnessing to the fight between Superman and General Zod from Man of Steel.

Whether or not you liked Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it hit theaters earlier this year, there’s a good chance that you’re curious to see the 30 minutes of footage that’s being put back into what is being called the Ultimate Edition. The alternate cut of the movie arrives on Blu-ray and DVD next month (though it will hit Digital HD a few weeks earlier), so a new trailer has arrived to tout the home video release. It’s not chock full of new footage like the previous trailer was, but there are glimpses of some new shots, as well as the special features that will take you behind the scenes.

If the original cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice left you wanting more, then Warner Bros. Pictures and director Zack Snyder have a treat for you. A new cut of Batman v Superman is getting released this summer, and as we’ve previously heard, this Ultimate Edition of the movie will put 30 minutes of cut footage back into the movie, some of which is so violent that it has earned an R-rating.
Now the first Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition trailer has arrived, showing tons of new footage, including glimpses of new supporting characters, including Jena Malone as Barbara Gordon, and more action for the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) and the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck). Taking in a domestic haul of just over $166 million this past weekend, it’s no secret that a lot of people went to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Even though there were plenty of bad reviews, there was no way they were ever going to squash audience curiosity to see a movie that brought Superman and Batman to the big screen in the same movie for the first time ever.
Now fans who enjoyed the DC Comics face-off can look forward to getting more of Batman v Superman this summer, as that’s when the R-rated Ultimate Edition will be released. In addition, there’s a collector’s edition of the theatrical cut that will come with an extra piece of memorabilia that hardcore fans will want to get their hands on.
