There’s no better place than the Oscars to see all your favorite movie stars assembled in one place, but the trailer for Jimmy Kimmel‘s Movie: The Movie V2 might be a close second.
In his post-Oscars show last year, Kimmel debuted an epic, star-studded 9-minute trailer poking fun at every obnoxious movie trope under the sun. This year, he’s back with an even more epic, even more star-studded trailer for Movie: The Movie V2. Because as Kimmel quips, “When you have a big success in Hollywood, there’s only one reasonable thing you can do, and that is cheapen it with a sequel.”
Watch Movie: The Movie V2 after the jump, followed by Kimmel’s other big movie parody, Life of Psy. Yup, that’s exactly what it sounds like.

Disney’s biggest movie of the year might just be The Lone Ranger, which resurrects the classic American hero with Armie Hammer behind the mask. But the real hero of this take is really the Native American warrior Tonto, played by Johnny Depp. Gore Verbinski‘s movie looks lie a big western in the style of WB’s Sherlock Holmes with a little bit of native mysticism and a whole lot of gunplay and train action.
The latest footage for the film has been released in a new Super Bowl spot; check it out below.

Disney has released a new trailer for Disney’s The Lone Ranger. Gore Verbinski directs Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the Ranger in a version of the classic American western storyline that puts Tonto as the real mastermind of the pair. This footage isn’t much, but it gives up a bit more of Tonto and the Ranger than did the teaser, as it shows Depp’s enigmatic character talking Hammer into his mask. Read More »
Before The Social Network, before The Lone Ranger, before The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Thor and The Avengers, Armie Hammer was already Batman. The year was 2007 and Warner Bros., trying to make a superhero team up film well-before The Avengers, cast the then unknown actor as the Dark Knight himself in Justice League. Of course, this never ended up happening and the studio had unprecedented success with another actor as Batman.
Fast forward a few years and the studio is once again trying to get a Justice League movie off the ground, reinvigorated by the success of The Avengers. Will Beall (Gangster Squad) has been writing the screenplay and Ben Affleck was rumored to be Warner’s choice to direct. In that same vein, the latest rumor is Hammer is “back on Warner Bros. radar” to play the Caped Crusader. Read more after the jump.

Yesterday we saw some new official photos from Gore Verbinski‘s The Lone Ranger, which stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer as Tonto and the Ranger, respectively. Now we’ve got a couple more new photos along with a strange and mysterious teaser poster. The poster highlights Tonto over the Ranger, demonstrating that while Hammer’s character may get the film’s title, this is really Depp’s show. Read More »
There are two big batches of official images to pass along this afternoon. One is for Gore Verbinski‘s The Lone Ranger, and while the pics are technically new, they don’t show off much we haven’t seen. That is, Johnny Depp‘s Tonto looks intense and more than a bit weird; Armie Hammer looks heroic and idealistic, and their world is one well-known to followers of classic Westerns.
The other batch, from the comedy Movie 43, is a bit more unpredictable. The film is a comedy anthology, with 25 shorts from almost a dozen directors: Patrik Forsberg, Peter Farrelly, Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk and Brett Ratner. The cast includes Kate Winslet, Anna Faris, Halle Berry, Emma Stone, Terrence Howard, Jason Sudaekis, and Johnny Knoxville. The PR line on the film is that it is “not for the faint of heart,” which is fairly enticing. Some of the images below give soft clues about what to expect. Read More »
