Last summer, Marvel Studios brought Ant-Man to the big screen, and the tiny superhero turned out to be a big hit, changing the pace by being a smaller, more isolated comic book flick. It has been particularly refreshing after The Avengers: Age of Ultron ended up being a little too big for its britches, and the film’s success resulted in Marvel quickly changing up their schedule to allow for a sequel called Ant-Man and The Wasp to land a spot on the calendar in 2018.
Since we’re a couple of years out from the film’s set release, Marvel is making more moves to fill out the cast by bringing back one of the most entertaining parts of the film: Michael Pena.

Due to the ageism that exists for female actresses in Hollywood, we haven’t seen much of Sharon Stone in the more popular movies of the past decade. In the past 10 years she’s had parts in Alpha Dog, Bobby, Lovelace, Fading Gigolo and that awful Basic Instinct sequel in 2006. Stone even starred in her own series called Agent X on TNT in 2015, which has since been canceled. However, a career boost might be in her future after a certain comic book movie studio gives her a role.
While appearing as a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden (via local news affiliate WBT, brought to our attention by ComingSoon.net), the Basic Instinct star revealed that she will have a role in an upcoming Marvel Studios movie. And the way she worded this revelation makes us think that it will be for the upcoming sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp. Find out more below. Read More »

Marvel Studios had some trouble hanging on to an Ant-Man director the first time around, as you probably recall, but it’s having no such issues now. Peyton Reed, who took over the first Ant-Man when Edgar Wright departed, is reportedly in talks to return for the recently announced sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. Though it’s not perfect, the recent release of Ant-Man from Marvel Studios is a refreshing comic book adventure with a different tone, style and a contained story, bringing us one of the more intimate movies from the comic book studio.
One of the reasons it works so well, besides having solid lead Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Michael Pena to steal every scene he’s in, is Michael Douglas. The veteran actor lends some credibility to the movie and brings some authenticity to the role of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man. However, fans might be disappointed to hear that as of now there’s no guarantee that we’ll see Michael Douglas in Ant-Man 2.

Yes, its true that you do get to see which involves Janet Van Dyne’s version of The Wasp in Ant-Man, via a flashback sequence (I won’t say anything more here). But the real question everyone is wondering is when will we see Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) , daughter of the original Ant-Man Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and the original Wasp Janet Van Dyne, put on The Wasp outfit as she does in the comics? I asked Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and actually got an answer.

Marvel’s not really in the business of making standalone movies. So even though there are no explicit plans for an Ant-Man 2 at the moment, it’s not a stretch to imagine there could be, as long as the first film doesn’t bomb completely. And if that does happen, director Peyton Reed would like Marvel to know he’s interested in returning. Read the Ant-Man 2 Peyton Reed comments after the jump. Read More »
