Here are two projects that might happen, but at this point the safest approach seems to be an emphasis on ‘might.’ One is a Jimi Hendrix biopic that has been gestating for some time with André Benjamin (aka André 3000 of OutKast) playing the iconic rocker. New Line has released a new Red Band (read: R-Rated or uncensored) movie trailer for Will Ferrell’s upcoming comedy Semi-Pro, and it actually makes the movie look funny (unlike every piece of advertising that has come before it). Walk Hard suffered from the same problem. Most people were turned off by the film’s advertising. The Red Band trailer was funny but very few people saw it, and even fewer bought a ticket to Dewey Cox this weekend, which is a shame. But Will Ferrell is a much more viable as a comedy star, and this film shouldn’t have problem doing business. Watch the new Semi-Pro Red Band Trailer below.

Guy Ritchie was a cult phenomenon. He rocketed onto the scene with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and soon after created Snatch, which is on the top 10 list of most 20-something film fanatics. But the filmmaker’s career took a nose drive shortly after marrying Madonna (coincidence? I think not). Ritchie is back with a new gangster film starring Ray Liotta, Jason Statham, Vincent Pastore, Andre ‘Andre 3000’ Benjamin and Terence Maynard.
Revolver looks to be exactly what it promises to be, a return to form. I love the close-up gliding shots of the chess game.
