Anchorman 2 bloopers

As audience members, we’re encouraged to laugh as long and as loud as we can at Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. But as the stars of the show, Will Ferrell and company were obligated to maintain a straight face. Which isn’t always easy when the scenes are this hilarious.

A recently released reel of Anchorman 2 bloopers show the stars screwing up and screwing around on set — riffing on specialty condom brands, bursting into giggles at the phase “frothy ejaculate,” or nearly tearing up with laughter during an awkward romantic scene. Even Brian Fantana’s famous kittens get in on the non-camera-ready action, adorably attacking each other instead of their toys. Watch the video after the jump.

Ron Burgundy’s Memoir to Hit Shelves This Fall

Anchorman Ron Burgundy

As he would be only too happy to tell you, Ron Burgundy is kind of a big deal. It’s not just anyone who can boast of having survived a bear pit, a news anchor melee, and a glass cage of emotion. And that’s just in the first film. In the sequel, we’ll see him tackle marriage, diversity, and the rise of the 24-hour news cycle.

Naturally, a man that fascinating needs to put out a memoir, and this fall he’ll do just that. Random House’s Crown Archetype imprint has announced that they will publish his autobiography Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings a few weeks before the December opening of Anchorman: The Legend Continues. More details on this no doubt brilliant book after the jump.

You probably already know this, but Ron Burgundy is kind of a big deal. If he wasn’t, would he be able to pull off a long leather overcoat with puffy fur collar?

Anchorman beard header

When the first Anchorman hit theaters, we were smack in the middle of the ’00s. Lost and Veronica Mars had yet to hit the airwaves. The Janet Jackson Super Bowl controversy was still kind of a thing. John Kerry looked like a viable option for the presidency. It was a crazy time.

But times have changed for us since then, and so, too, have they for the Channel 4 news team. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues sees Ron (Will Ferrell), Brian (Paul Rudd), Champ (David Koechner) and Brick (Steve Carell) running headfirst into the ’80s and facing the new challenges that come it. Among those are diversity in the workplace (as represented by Meagan Good) and the 24-hour news cycle (as represented by Dylan Baker). Watch the first trailer after the jump.

Anchorman-2-Legs

Director Adam McKay promised “a murderers’ row of day players” for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and based on the casting so far it definitely looks like he’s gonna deliver. But the faces we’re really excited to see are those of the core Channel 4 news team, and the new trailer offers a peek at just that.

There’s no new footage to be found here, but there are enough laughs to whet your appetite for comedy. Against a flashy backdrop just like the one from the last trailer, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Champ Kind (David Koechner), and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) step up to say hello. And stay classy. And, uh, happy Easter. Check it out after the jump.

Anchorman

Anchorman: The Legend Continues has an extensive lineup of celebrity cameos that ranges from the fairly obvious (John C. Reilly) to the nearly out of left field (Harrison Ford). But it’s not done adding people yet.

A new report indicates that a very high-profile A-lister has agreed to lend her talents to the film. Her role hasn’t been revealed at this time, but let’s hope she has a less strange experience than Ford did with, as he puts it, “What’s-His-Name and the applesauce girl.” After the jump, find out who the latest Anchorman cast member is and read more of Ford’s comments about the shoot.
