Chris Klein has become the latest actor to sign on for American Reunion, the upcoming American Pie sequel that sees the gang returning to their hometown for their ten-year high school reunion. Reunion has already signed Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Eugene Levy and Alyson Hannigan; other members of the original cast, including Thomas Ian Nichols, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are still negotiating their roles.

Klein, as you may recall, played Oz, a lacrosse player who falls for Suvari’s Heather in the first movie. In Reunion, Oz has become a big shot with a Malibu mansion and a girlfriend who seems to be a gold-digger. [MovieWeb]

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of the gang from American Pie, Universal is baking another. They’ve officially locked deals with three of the stars of the original films, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy, to appear in American Reunion, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They’re also negotiating with Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge to reprise their roles as well. American Reunion, which would officially be the fourth American Pie movie with the original cast, but eighth (!) in a lucrative direct-to-video franchise, would surely see the gang come home to Michigan for their high school reunion.

Last year, Harold and Kumar screenwriters Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg were rumored to be writing a script but there’s no word if they’re still involved. More after the jump. Read More »

A couple months ago it was reported that Universal Pictures was looking to bring the American Pie franchise back to the big screen, but not as a reboot, but a fourth film in the series featuring the cast of characters from the original trilogy. That’s right — Jim, Stiffler, Nadia, Oz, Michelle, and all the gang.  The studio was in talks with Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the writers behind the Harold and Kumar films, to script American Pie 4.

Looks like the writing duo not only signed on to script the fourth installment, but also direct. But where does this leave the the third installment of the Harold & Kumar franchise? Find out, after the jump.
