Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

We’re having a pretty good day, thanks in part to Disney’s decision to drop the first official Guardians of the Galaxy still after months of anticipation. But if you aren’t, maybe the studio’s other big reveal will be more your speed.

Disney has just debuted a new image from Miguel Arteta‘s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, based on the classic children’s book by Judith Viorst. On the bright side, Steve Carell remains attached to star as Alexander’s father. More details after the jump.

More after the jump.

Having recently wrapped Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Hope Springs, and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone — and attached himself to Despicable Me 2, Foxcatcher, Lunatics, The Dogs of Babel, Conviction, and Magic Kingdom for Sale — SOLD! — Carell is now said to be circling Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, a live-action adaptation of the Judith Viorst children’s book. Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right) has been signed on to direct since last year. More details after the jump.

Lisa Cholodenko (High Art, Laurel Canyon) won an Oscar nomination for her direction of The Kids Are All Right, but since the end of last year the only project to which she has been really attached is a simmering HBO show about which we know very little.
