‘Rings’ Trailer: Samara Adapts to the Times

Not to be outdone by the Blair Witch, Samara is also mounting a return this fall. Paramount has unveiled the first trailer for Rings, starring Matilda Lutz and Alex Roe as the latest victims of that eerie video from 2002’s The Ring. And if you’re wondering how Samara’s curse could possibly continue in an era where no one watches VHS tapes anymore, you may be pleased to see she’s made some technological upgrades. The 5th Wave trailer

If aliens were going to invade Earth, you could do worse than pin your hopes on Chloë Grace Moretz. The former Hit-Girl leads The 5th Wave as Cassie, a teen girl trying to survive in a world that’s been torn apart by alien attacks — four waves of them, in fact, with a fifth one on the way. When her brother is taken (Zackary Arthur) is taken away, she sets out to save him.

There comes a time in every young actor’s life when he or she must attempt to lead their own dystopian YA franchise, and for Chloë Grace Moretz that time is now. She stars as Cassie The 5th Wave, based on Rick Yancey‘s hit teen novel about a world torn apart by invading alien forces. Naturally, the book is the first in a trilogy.
