Rogue One Clip

The clips are starting to pour in for Gareth Edwards‘ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. After plenty of welcomed secrecy, just two short weeks before the movie finally comes out, we’re seeing more and more footage. Yesterday brought us a clip in which Stormtroopers have yet to master the art of simply aiming, while today brings us a new clip showing Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) trying to get on the same page and another with a character you’ll remember from the prequels.

Below, watch the Rogue One clips.

rogue one clip

We’re two weeks from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the marketing machine has entered the “Screw it, let’s some ’em everything!” phase. At this point, to take in every new TV spot and every new promotional video is to risk seeing a little too much…unless that is entirely your goal. So you probably know whether or not you want to watch the first clip from director Gareth Edwards‘ spin-off film, which is set in the time right before the events of the original 1977 Star Wars and follows a brand new crew of characters who set out to steal the Empire’s Death Star plans and ensure that the events of the original trilogy happen in the first place.

heihei Moana

Four months before animation work on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ latest film Moana was set to conclude, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter sat down to decide the fate of one of the movie’s characters. The character had been in the story since day one, and had survived the many iterations of the story, but the consensus was that he was not working and needed to be removed from the movie.

After slaving away on the film for the past five years, directors Ron Clements and John Musker were not ready to let go of their beloved rooster. Heihei (pronounced hay-hay) was on the chopping block, and by a stroke of luck, the Moana story team had 48 hours to “save the rooster.”

Con Man

The layers of meta are thick with Con ManAlan Tudyk created and stars in the series about an actor famous for starring in a brilliant-but-cancelled sci-fi classic, with Nathan Fillion playing his good friend and former co-star. The show follows said actor as he tours geeky conventions — you know, not unlike the one Tudyk and Fillion stopped by this year to tease season 2 of Con Man.

It should come as no surprise that former Firefly stars Tudyk and Fillion got the warmest of receptions in Hall H at this year’s Comic-Con, where they offered audiences a glimpse of not just Con Man season 2 but Con Man: The Game and the Spectrum comic book series (inspired by the show-within-a-show that Fillion and Tudyk’s characters used to star in). Below, read our Con Man Comic-Con panel recap.  Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:

powerless review

Every superhero show or movie has them: dozens or hundreds of anonymous extras milling about in the backgrounds of all those CG-heavy, city-destroying third-act climaxes, looking alternatively terrified and grateful. Every once in a while, some of them even get to speak – to testify against Superman in Congress or to corner Iron Man in an elevator. But NBC’s Powerless is the first time these nameless nobodies truly get to take center stage. And as it turns out, they’ve got a pretty great story to tell.  Read More »
