Arriving on Force Friday last week, Acme Direct revealed some new artwork inspired by Star Wars, including some new pieces in honor of The Force Awakens (as seen above). Check out the entire line-up of new artwork, some of which is still available for purchase, at Acme Direct's shop.

Only the first wave of Black Series figures from The Force Awakens were available in the United States on Force Friday, though some of them were available in international territories. But a second wave of figures will be coming next month, and they were on display at Fan Expo in Canada. Captain Phasma is pictured above, but you can see Poe Dameron, Constable Zuvio and Guavian Enforcer figures at Star Wars Underworld.

You might remember that a leaked set photo showed off one of the new creatures in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it looked like a giant pig. Well, as you can see in the Instagram post above, it has a name, and it's called a Happabore. More accurately, that's probably the species of the creature as opposed to its name, but you get the idea. Who doesn't want a big ugly space pig on their shelf? [MakingStarWars.net]

RealD is releasing Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D glasses.

Star Wars - Disney Infiinity - Jar Jar Binks

For anyone who hates Jar Jar Binks, the new Disney Infinity 3.0 has given the character the proper tribute in the game by freezing him in carbonite. The above image is a screenshot comes from Imgur (via GeeksAreSexy), straight from the video game. Unfortunately, since he's frozen in carbonite, that means he's not dead, but he's certainly not going anywhere anytime soon.

    Mythbusters - Star Wars

There's been a couple times when Mythbusters have taken a crack at busting myths from the Star Wars universe, and Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman have had a blast doing it. However, when working with a beloved property as Star Wars, the folks at Lucasfilm did have some restrictions on what they couldn't do on television. Savage told THR:

"They had a couple of restrictions. We weren't allowed to animate real lightsaber effects onto our lightsabers while fighting. Besides that, they wanted to make sure that we weren't going to do something too far off from what a character would do. I don't think they wanted us to twerk with a Stormtrooper or something like that."

That doesn't sound too bad though. And thankfully there was no twerking in sight.

Star Wars - AhsokaStar Wars: Aftermath is one shelves now, and we've already given you some food for though as to whether or not the book is worth reading. But if you're just looking for information as to how the book expands and references the known Star Wars universe, then StarWars.com has the information you need with a list of connections the book makes to previously known characters, locations and more.Star Wars Aftermath header

Finally, speaking of Star Wars: Aftermath, it has been confirmed that the first openly gay character in the Star Wars universe appears in the book. Sinjir Rath Velus, an Imperial traitor who works for rebellion, thwarts the advances of a woman in the book and reveals his sexuality.

Author Chuck Wendig recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the character saying, "I don't want it to seem like a glib choice. I think it's fundamental to who he is, in terms of character."

That's all for this edition of Star Wars Bits. Stay tuned for more soon.
