The Sounds Of 'The Muppets,' A Music Video And The Potential For A Sequel

Of the many things that make me happy about The Muppets, this story concerns three of them.

James Bobin's film does a fantastic job of not only paying respect to the Muppet legacy but also setting a foundation for a whole new world should audiences demand to see it. And why wouldn't they? The Muppets is filled with memorable characters and an interesting story interspersed with a slew of catch tunes and sounds that can't help but make you feel happy.

In regards to both those points, this article will provide an update from the producers on what work is being done on a sequel as well as a video from the Soundworks Collection about the music and sound of The Muppets and a music video of the song "Man or Muppet."

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Muppets producer Todd Lieberman said the following when asked if a sequel was in the works:

We've been discussing the potential for something. We don't know what it is or anything about it, it just started coming up recently — very early, nascent discussions of something potential that I wouldn't even say is definitely going to happen.

That's both kind of encouraging and not at the same time. We'll have to wait and see.

Next up is the Soundworks video for The Muppets. This one is a little different from some of the other videos we've published by the site because it's not a movie you'd traditionally consider sonically complicated. But muppets don't have feet or make sounds so this video gives a great insight into how much audio was put into the movie as well as the Dolby 7.1 mix.

Finally, "Man or Muppet" is my personal favorite song in The Muppets and Disney created this music video for it. It's more or less filled with spoilers from the film but if you've see the movie, go ahead and enjoy the genius.
