Sideshow Star Wars Boba Fett Prototype Armor Sixth Scale Figure Reviewed

The Sideshow Star Wars Boba Fett Prototype Armor Sixth Scale Figure faithfully recreates Joe Johnston's original early prototype of the infamous bounty hunter. The costume was always meant to be colored, but the figure is a recreation of this famous original costume test. Here is a video of the original costume test, introduced by Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt:

Instead of a real cape, the early prototype suit was wrapped with a Star Wars beach towel, and Sideshow collectibles has even recreated that vintage towel (in sixth scale of course) for this release — a fun detail.

Sculpted by Tim Niver, the figure looks like an art piece because of the almost all-white coloring. So while some hardcore Star Wars fans will likely geek out over the fact that the figure showcases the early prototype armor, less knowledgeable fans may be drawn to in to the look. My girlfriend was immediately taken by the design.

Boba Fett's helmet comes complete with Rangefinder. His weaponry includes the Prototype Rifle and Blaster and a few different hand choices to accommodate. His Jet Pack with Grappling hook is removable, and the figure also comes with an extra Fabric Cape (in case you don't want to use the white Sideshow Exclusive Star Wars Beach Towel 'Cape').
