Five years ago The Simpsons Movie hit screens, and while the show has soldiered on in the interim, TV’s amazingly long-lived family hasn’t hit movie screens since. That changes next week with the opening of Fox’s Ice Age: Continental Drift. Playing before that movie will be a Simpsons short called The Longest Daycare, in which Maggie returns to the Ayn Rand School for Tots, and runs afoul of her arch-enemy Gerald, aka the baby with the one eyebrow.
Check out a super-brief trailer for the short below.
Despite the fact that Fox just can’t get around to canceling The Simpsons, the show is a shadow of its former self. Every once in a while it knocks a sequence out of the park, such as when street artist Banksy designed an opening sequence over a year ago.
The occasional home run moment almost makes the show look more sad, as those moments were once a reliable weekly spectacle from the show. Still, maybe The Longest Daycare will have a couple killer moments. [EW]Cool Posts From Around the Web:
