Short Term 12 Gallagher Larson

NOTE – THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED AND WINNERS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. THANKS TO THE HUNDREDS OF YOU THAT ENTERED.

After a long summer of loud blockbusters, you might like a small, fantastic film you can tell your friends about. That movie is Short Term 12. Written and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton based on his award-winning 2009 short film of the same name, Short Term 12 stars Brie Larson and John Gallagher Jr. as a couple who spend their days dealing with troubled teens in a halfway house. The film has won awards at practically every film festival its played at and opened last week to a very strong per screen average. I gave it a 10/10 here on the site when I reviewed it at Sundance.

This weekend, Short Term 12 expands all over California as well as Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, Phoenix and Virginia. We want to send you to see it for free.

We’ve got three pairs of tickets to see the film, for free, at any of the theaters playing the film this weekend. Plus, you get a posted signed by Brie Larson and a soundtrack. Find out how to enter below.

First up, to enter you have to live in, or near, one of the following cities.

  • New York, NY

  • Pasadena, CA
  • El Segundo, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Berkeley, CA
  • Washington, DC
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Boston, MA

If that’s you, send an email to slashfilmcontest@gmail.com with the subject “Short Term 12.” Include your name, address and phone number. All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. PST on Thursday August 29. Winners will then be contacted directly by the studio to arrange for your showtime.

Also – you must be able to use the tickets on Friday August 30, Saturday August 31 or Sunday September 1.

For specific theater information, and to see where Short Term 12 is opening in the coming weeks, visit the official site (September 13 is a particularly large expansion). I honestly can’t recommend the movie enough.
