Briefly: The cast for The Sitter is shaping up. David Gordon Green is set to direct the R-rated comedy, and he’s already got Jonah Hill in the lead as a guy who gets roped into babysitting the children of a family friend. Naturally, things go very wrong. One of the problems is a drug deal that ends up with a pair of dealers chasing Jonah Hill and the kids all over Manhattan. One of the dealers will be played by J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and the other will now reportedly be brought to life by Sam Rockwell.
Great news, as far as I’m concerned. Rockwell is almost always an asset, and it doesn’t take any stretch to see how he’d be great as the comic antagonist in a film like this. And with Mr. Smoove as his partner? I like that a lot. In addition to Jonah Hill, Ari Graynor will be on hand (as the girl who motivates the drug buy) while Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are), and young actors Kevin Hernandez and Landry Bender play the three kids.
