First Look: Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'

The press conference for Ridley Scott's sort-of Alien prequel Prometheus is going on right now and the debut of footage from the movie will take place shortly in Hall H at Comic Con. But we've got this first image right now. What is it? Rather difficult to tell, though I expect once we've seen footage in motion we'll understand the context a little bit more. See a much larger, more complete version after the break.

So what planet is this on, and who's in the suit? We don't know. Answers coming soon. After a long, possibly spoilerish plot description came out not long ago, Fox released this official take on the film, but it probably won't tell you much more:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, and Rafe Spall and will be released on June 8, 2012.
