new Daredevil photos

Netflix’s first Marvel show, Daredevil, hits the platform on April 10. The 13 episode season marks the start of a huge crossover event that will continue with AKA Jessica Jones, go into Luke Cage, then debut Iron Fist before ending in The Defenders. We may even see a second season of Daredevil in the middle there. It all depends on the success of the first season, but up ’til now, we haven’t see a lot from Daredevil.

We’ve seen stills. We’ve seen a cool teaser trailer. And now more Daredevil photos have come online, which focus less on Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox. These focus more on the side characters. Characters like Night Nurse, played by Rosario Dawson, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and most excitingly, a tease of Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio.

Hulk Age of Ultron character header

The first official Avengers: Age of Ultron poster was a big mess of characters and details, but the character posters are a lot more clean. It helps that the posters only have to focus on one character each — in this latest case, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk — and also that it appears to be just one part of a larger set which will assemble into a huge image. (This looks like it could be something along the lines of the concept art drop from Comic Con last summer.) We’ll continue to post the Age of Ultron character posters as they arrive, assembling them as we go along if they are indeed pieces of a larger image.

See all of the Avengers: Age of Ultron character posters below.

Spectre video blog

Following up the new images released earlier today, here’s a new Spectre video blog in which director Sam Mendes explains a lot about what’s going on with James Bond in this 24th film in the (official) series… without actually explaining much at all. But did you think he was just going to lay out the entire plot now, months before the film hits theaters? Not likely. But he does drop a few hints, so check out the video below. Read More »

Parks and Recreation - Ron and Jean Ralphio

This week’s Parks & Recreation finale proved a worthy sendoff for the show’s main characters. But as we say goodbye to Leslie, Ron, and the rest of the gang, we also wanted to take a look at some of our favorite side characters through the years.

Parks and Recreation has maybe the deepest bench of supporting players this side of The Simpsons — far too many to honor here. So after the jump, we’ve listed our 20 top 20 Parks and Recreation recurring characters, plus our 5 favorite single-episode guest stars. Read More »

Love & Mercy

Brian Wilson wasn’t a conventional person, so why should he get a conventional biopic? Love & Mercy casts not one but two actors as the Beach Boys musician. Paul Dano plays him in the 1960s, when he was a young man on track for greatness; John Cusack plays him in the 1980s, as he’s struggling to get out from under an abusive relationship with his doctor Eugene Landy (Paul Giamatti).

Leaving aside the fact that Dano, Cusack, and Wilson don’t really look alike at all, Love & Mercy seems like an artful exploration of an American music icon. Elizabeth Banks also stars as Melinda Ledbetter, the woman who would become Wilson’s second wife. Watch the Love and Mercy trailer after the jump.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:

Spectre Austria Craig Seydoux Bautista 2

We’ve already seen 007’s slick all-black getup from the new Bond film, Spectre, and now we have a first look at some of the characters that’ll cross his path. New pictures reveal Dave Bautista as henchman Mr. Hinx (who, unlike Drax the Destroyer, understands what a metaphor is) and Léa Seydoux as not-quite-Bond-girl Dr. Madeleine Swann.

Get to know the new characters with a fresh batch of Spectre images after the jump.

Fish Friend
Fish Friend is a short film about the tender relationship between a young girl and her murderous pet piranha. But this isn’t (quite) a horror story. It’s more like a sweet coming of age tale set in a world that is equal parts ’50s Americana and subversive ’90s animation thrown in. It just happens to have some blood, skulls, and a lot of teeth. Oh, and a stop-motion piranha who is as oddly endearing as he is menacing. Watch the short Fish Friend film after the break.
