$467 million in international box office tends raise some eyebrows in Hollywood. So when The Hangover became one of the biggest surprise hits in history, sequel news and rumors began running rampant. There was the huge pay increase stars Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifianakis and Ed Helms got for the film, some projects those guys left because of the inevitable shooting schedule and, of course, Thailand. The Asian country was rumored to be the setting, then it wasn’t, then it was again, according to director Todd Phillips.
No matter where it’s set, though, the biggest question remains how the setting of the film will facilitate the plot structure and debauchery we know and love from the original. Hit the jump to read the latest rumor about what exactly might happen while Phil, Stu and Alan party in Thailand.
A few months ago, it was apparently confirmed that Thailand was going to be the setting of the film. Now, our friends at Latino Review have uncovered what exactly might happen to set the story in motion.
After a hard night of partying Stu gets really drunk and ends up sleeping with a Thai tranny. The next day the guys have to try and rehash the night and figure out what happened.
That’ll work. Thailand is not only known for being one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but also for its seedy underbelly of sex, drugs and more. Still, the genius of the first film was that it portrayed a scenario that should never, ever happen again. I just hope Phil, Stu and Alan don’t “mistakenly” take roofies again or something dumb like that. Fingers crossed.
Warner Bros has an announced release date of May 26, 2011 for The Hangover 2.Cool Posts From Around the Web:
