Who wants to be INSPIRED on this beautiful October day? Well, you can’t do much better than the trailer for Justin Bieber Never Say Never. This 3D Paramount documentary tells the “inspiring true story” of 16-year-old teen singing sensation Justin Bieber who went from YouTube nobody to one of the most famous people on the planet in mere months. From the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be a bunch of young girls screaming, videos of baby Bieber drumming and then some songs intercut with Karate Kid Segway rides. Sounds dangerously close to a Barbara Kopple documentary.
We’re posting this trailer for a few reasons. One, it’s hilarious. Two, when this movie comes out February 11 it’s going to be incredibly massive and, as a film fan, you need to be aware of it. There will be long lines at the theaters and you deserve to know why that screening of Drive Angry 3D has loud shrieking bleeding through the walls. “B Part Of It” after the jump.
Here’s the trailer, which world premiered at Justin Bieber’s concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on Monday night. I’m so mad I missed that.
Our own Russ Fischer points out his favorite part of the trailer: “My favorite part: where it says ‘and he’s doing it all BY HIMSELF!’ And then cuts to a shot of him on stage indistinguishable amidst about 20 dancers. Who says the art of editing is dead?” For me, the best part is when the young girl says she’s been a fan since his first video and will be a fan until his last video. I love it because that means she’s been a fan for two whole years and has no idea that’s the exact amount of time her fandom has left. And that’s not to say Biebs isn’t talented (that’s what I call him, “Biebs.”). The kid can obviously sing and act (Did you see him on CSI? Neither did I.) but by nature, pop stars only have a very short shelf life.
On a more film fan note, according to Box Office Mojo, Justin Bieber Never Say Never comes out the same weekend as two other 3D movies and five total wide releases. It should be very interesting to see how theaters balance the 3D Bieber flick, Drive Angry 3D and Gnomeo & Juliet in addition to the 2D romantic comedies Just Go With It and Monte Carlo.
What is your favorite part of the trailer? Also, feel free to admit how many of you have girlfriends who are going to drag you to this movie?
