Watch 'The Mummy' Trailer All Too Easily Turned Into A 'Mission: Impossible' Movie

Earlier this week, the teaser trailer for Universal's latest attempt to remake The Mummy hit the web. Tom Cruise stars in next summer's blockbuster that puts a female Mummy at the center of the horror action adventure reboot, and his presence combined with the overall style of the movie gave many the feeling that this was just another Mission: Impossible movie. Well, what if it was?

A new trailer mash-up does some easy editing and turns The Mummy trailer into another Mission: Impossible sequel. All you need is some Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and some conveniently placed voiceover, and we've got quite the unique Mission: Impossible movie.

The best part of the trailer comes when The Mummy uses her powers to wreak havoc on a city, creating huge clouds of dust and debris, matching up perfectly with the dust storm sequence from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Honestly, there's something that's kind of intriguing about the idea of a Mission: Impossible movie tackling something that's more supernatural than your traditional espionage action thriller. It makes me wish it was possible to create wild, one-shot kind of movies with franchise characters. There's a chance we might get to see how that works if that 21 Jump Street crossover with Men in Black actually gets off the ground, but as we've heard, that's proving to be difficult.

Anyway, if you haven't seen The Mummy teaser trailer, you can watch it right here. Also, there's a stylish new featurette, an interview with director Alex Kurtzman, and some details on that crazy plane sequence from the trailer.
