Cool Stuff: Disney's Cinderella Castle Gets A Massive, Magical Official LEGO Set

If you're a fan of LEGO and Disney, then you'll probably want to start saving your money for a massive set that will bring the magic of Walt Disney World to your collectible shelf.

LEGO has just announced the arrival of a new official set that recreates Cinderella's iconic castle out of 4,080 LEGO pieces. If you can't think in your head what Cinderella's castle looks like, it's the one that you can see from pretty much anywhere in Walt Disney World, but not the one that you see in the Disney logo that plays before movies. What's cool is that even though this is Cinderella's castle, it's chock full of Disney easter eggs.

Just for the sake of comparison, here's the LEGO set in front of the real castle:

But of course you'll want to take a closer look with this image of the front and back of the set:

As you can see the set does not have a complete exterior as the back is wide open to allow access to the various rooms and little Disney accessories that you'll build in the set as well. Here's some of the goodies you'll find on the inside:

The photos show off the enchanted rose and a familiar candelabra from Beauty and the Beast, the magic carpet and Genie's lamp from Aladdin, Mickey's hat, mop and bucket from The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment of Fantasia, the frogs from The Princess and the Frog, and even some bows, arrows and targets from Robin Hood. Of course, Cinderella's glass slipper is in there as well.

In addition, there are new minifigures of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Tinker Bell. Plus, you can populate the castle with some of the other cool Disney minifigures that were made available early this year. They won't all fit in with the aesthetic of Disney's castle, but it's a Disney theme overall, so you'll be fine to just throw them all in there.

The bad news is this set will cost you $350, which is just as much as the huge LEGO Ghostbusters firehouse set, even though it doesn't have as high of a piece count. Still, that's less than a family trip to Disney, so that's not too bad. The set will be available for purchase on September 1st.
