Jason Reitman Programs The New Beverly Cinema

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles regularly has guest programers — Screenwriters, directors, actors curate a selection of screenings at the historic revival movie house, now owned by Quentin Tarantino. Programers in the past couple years have included Edgar Wright, Diablo Cody, Joe Dante, Patton Oswalt, Eli Roth, and many others. Starting Friday, Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air) will begin programing double features at the New Beverly Cinema for a week.

This will be a great opportunity to see these films projected in 35mm on the big screen. Please come join me as I introduce some of these double features. These are six films that have inspired me to no end. If you haven't see one or more, I highly recommend you join me.

After the jump you can see a full listing of the films Reitman has chosen for his program. Some of the selections should ring obvious to those who are familiar with Reitman's filmography thus far.

Having just moved to Los Angeles, I had never attended a screening at the New Bev until this weekend (The Last American Virgin at midnight with cast q & a). It's definitely the closest thing Hollywood has to the Alamo Drafthouse, and you certainly can't beat the concession prices. I walked away with two Medium sodas and two different boxes of Candy for only six dollars.Try to find a deal like that at your local cineplex.I plan on attending the Ferris Bueller's Day Off/ElectionBreaking Away/Bottle Rocket and double features. Anyone else plan on attending?
