Final 'Skyscraper' Trailer: The Rock Takes A Leap Of Faith
At this point, we know the gist of what happens in Dwayne Johnson's latest movie, Skyscraper. The Rock is working at the highest tower in the world, that tower gets set on fire, and he must save his family from certain death and fight off some terrorists. It's a mash-up of Die Hard and The Towering Inferno. Dwayne Johnson jumps a lot.
But the latest Skyscraper trailer knows what we really want to see: one of the most suspenseful scenes from the movie, played out in full.

It's a scene we've seen bits and pieces of in past trailers for Skyscraper. But now Universal is smartly giving it to us in full. The scene follows Johnson's former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and war veteran Will Ford as he gets ready to climb the outside of the highest skyscraper in the world. Armed with only a rope and his bulging muscles, it looks like he's going to succeed, until he's faced with a rotating fan of death (which looks like it serves no purpose other than to chop up unwitting building climbers). He successfully times his jump through the fan, but is sabotaged by a column of flames that force him to run back toward his rope. And there we see the beginning of that memorable shot of him hanging by his prosthetic leg thousands of feet in the air.
Universal knows what we come to Dwayne Johnson movies to see: the bombastic set-pieces, the thrilling action, Johnson acting as the real-life superhero we all know he is. And this final Skyscraper trailer delivers all of that.
Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Skyscraper also stars Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Roland Møller, Pablo Schreiber, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, and Noah Taylor.
