The Tuesday night box office estimates are in, and FM‘s Steve Mason reports that Transformers took in an estimated $29.5 million. This means that Michael Bay’s new film is now holds the record of the biggest Tuesday opening of all time, easily surpassing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest [$15.7M]. It’s likely that this will become the 4th-best opening day of 2007 (behind only Spidey, Pirates and Shrek). You add the $8 million that the Tuesday night screenings brought in, and you get a 28-hour number of $38 million. Not bad at all. The film seems to be maintaining a good buzz and is likely to make $140-$150 million in its first 7 days.
