One other thing I've just noticed about the film, not only have they ripped the Donnie Darko off Richard Kelly, they've also taken naming off another very well known film – Iraq Jack's full name is Jack Sparrow… yes it's the same name as the well known Captain off Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Jack Sparrow.

I just watched S. Darko, it's the first time I've seen a movie on Blu-Ray apparently dubbed as "The Perfect High Definition Experience".

I liked the original Donnie Darko as it was clever and well thought out.

This new S. Darko film has seriously put me off Blu-ray, the first movie I watched on DVD was Enemy of The State and it made me want to buy more. This S. Darko film has seriously damaged my thoughts about Blu Ray. Hopefully the second Blu Ray movie wont be as bad.

I wish I'd read reviews of this and found out it was nothing to do with the guy behind Donnie and I probably would have avoided it.

The entire film made no sense what-so-ever. On the original you got to the end and realised what had happened and explained all the strange things going on. This one you get to the end and your head is still as messed up as it was at the beginning.

Anyone know where did the mysterious car come from that killed both Sam and Cory? and what was the idea of Iraq Jack??? Was he supposed to be like Donnie in the first one, or was it Sam who was supposed to be like Donnie.

This film seems more equivalent to a very messed up Sliding Doors rather than a Donnie Darko sequel. Thankfully I only rented the Blu-Ray, I'll be a bit wary about renting Donnie Darko 3 if they release it.

all the fuss is because donnie darko was caught up in copyright litigation. read about the big mess at “therealdonniedarko dot com” and everything makes sense. now i know why everyone is against it and trying to stop it!

i saw this link on another site and the whole donnie darko thing was nothing but a sham. there was a copyright lawsuit against drew barrymore and richard kelly and they never showed up. wait till u find out what its REALLY about! it all makes sense now but im pissed!

okay, now believe me when i say donnie darko changed my life, it really did, and like most fans, i’m greatly disappointed with what i’ve heard about the sequel so far, but honestly people? making petitions for the movie? don’t you think thats going a bit overboard? no ones making you see this film. if you think it’s going to ruin donnie darko for you, then don’t watch it? but i don’t think it’s anyone’s place to try and stop the production of the movie. consider the fact that some people (myself not included) may be looking forward to this movie? if you aren’t one of those people, there’s a simple solution; don’t watch it. i’m obviously not applauding this directors choice to make a sequel to a wonderful movie, which i personally feel had a good ending with plenty of closure, but i’m not going to let it become a huge concern of mine when it clearly doesn’t affect myself or anyone else whatsoever.

Daveigh was in a lot more then just straight to DVD movies. Come on…she is the scary girl that comes out of the screen….SAMARA in THE RING. And the voice of Lilo in all the Lilo and Stitch movies. She is great. I don’t know about the movie…but I hope it turns out good.

hey… isnt this movie going to be any good? come on have to save the world… WTF get kelly to write it not a bunch of monkeys. (Butterfly Effect 2 all over again…) I am a big fan of timetravel and thinking of things like that (own all back to the futures, Donnie D, Butterfly E). the idea of this crap for a movie about a 17 year-old girl with a 10mill budget.. don’t attached it to Donnie.. call it something out change that chars names… and come on… I love the rabbit but bringing him back for this… that doesnt work that was there for donnie not his sister. mabye better if it was donnie himself…

“Avoid at all costs.”

If this attitude existed when Richard Kelly was making Donni Darko – the film would of never been made. Wait for it to be released, see it, and then rip it apart if you don’t like it. But commenting even before the first scene is filmed is bad form.
