Cool Stuff: Nerdcore Calendar Goes Sci-Fi in 2009

Nerdcore merges hot women and geek concepts for the coolest geek pin-up calendar around. In 2007 it was video gamer-themed. Last year, they took on Superheroes (click here to see our previous cool stuff post on the 2008 calendar). Nerdcore has announced the theme of the 2009 calendar – Science Fiction! We’ve been provided with some exclusive NSFW photos, which you can check out after the jump.

“In our 12-month, 2009 calendar, the greatest sci-fi themes and motifs are explored like never before, from epic space operas to more intimate retro-chic, ala your favorite sexy super spies from the 60s. You’ll find portraits of a fiery redhead being carried off by giant robots (starring geek goddess Justine Joli), a purple-haired vixen presiding over a futuristic metropolis (European sensation Jana Cova), and a topless cyborg adorned in western gear, revolvers and all (starlet Bobbi Starr). Also featured: two-time cover model Karlie Montana, Zoli Suicide (pictured), Crystal Klein (pictured), Sara Brinsfield, Georgia Jones, and more! In the tradition of the best-selling 2007 and 2008 Nerdcore calendars, this 2009 edition marks the third time famed photographer Cherie Roberts and designer/artist Jason Adam. 12 inches wide x 18 inches tall (much larger than standard calendars), with a spiral binding for easy flipping and hanging. Printed on heavy, archival-style paper stock, as well as a glossy, UV coating, giving the calendar an extended lifespan long beyond 2009.”

Our favorite part of the Nerdcore Calendar is the Nerd Dates – Regular and nerdy holidays, including over one hundred important holy days for geeks, including: Major movie releases; conventions like San Diego Comic-Con; anniversaries for major franchises and cult classics; birthdays for of genre favorite creators, actors, writers, and directors; and key fictional happenings, from obscure to awesome. I almost wish they would make a non pin-up calendar just with the Nerd Dates.

Nerdcore has put the 2009 calendar up for pre-order, and if you purchase a calendar before November 1st, they will be including a bonus limited run mini-poster.
