Cool Stuff: Alamo’s The Thing, Planet of the Apes, The Car Movie Posters
Posted on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 by Peter Sciretta

We’ve written about the Alamo Drafthouse’s limited edition movie posters in the past, and I even have a couple hanging proudly on my walls. Last week Mondo Tees released the first two posters commissioned for their Spring Big Screen Sci-Fi Classics series. The King Kong and 2001: A Space Odyssey posters sold out in record time after we posted them in Cool Stuff.
The next in the series is John Carpenter’s The Thing, a poster created by Tyler Stout (who we’ve also written about in the past). A 5 color sikscreen measuring 24×36, with the red glowing in the dark! Every character infected by The Thing has RED EYES! How cool is that? Print is available for $30 on Mondotees and is limited to only 100, so act fast.

Check out the detailing in Tyler Stout’s incredible artwork in the two close-up images below. Click to enlarge.
They’re also selling a Metallic Variant of The Thing poster with metallic silver and gold, with gold eyes for the infected characters. Limited to only 30 prints and available for $75.

Todd Slater’s Planet of The Apes is sized 24×3, limited to 50 copies. The poster is available on Mondotees.

Also available in a variant printed using Copper ink, limited to only 10 copies.

They also are selling a poster for the special upcoming Terror Thursday screening of The Car. 22×32, five colors with metallic inks. They only printed 50 prints, which are selling for $30 on Mondotees.
