Christopher Nolan Won't Make A Fourth Batman Film; 'The Dark Knight Rises' Midnight And Marathon Tickets On Sale Now

With Prometheus out of the way and the release of The Amazing Spider-Man coming up soon, we're primed for The Dark Knight Rises to fully take over the summer. Director Christopher Nolan appeared at the Produced By conference over the weekend, where he spoke about the value of traditional shot-on-film filmmaking. He also said he has no further sequel plans for Batman, shutting the door on some vague speculation and rumor that he might be talked into making one more movie in the series.

In addition to Nolan's comments, we've got info on the sale status of tickets for the first showings of The Dark Knight Rises.

Reportage of Nolan's comments on sequel is a bit confusing, but Variety says that when asked about making another Batmanfilm, the director said 'no,' adding,

We never had a specific trajectory. I wanted to put everything into making one great film, I didn't want to hold anything back.

He also disparaged the current emphasis on digital filmmaking, adding according to Deadline,

...that he "didn't have any interest in being the research department for an electronics company." Nolan added, "It's like filmmakers are being encouraged to buy cameras like we are buying iPods."

Finally, you can get tickets for The Dark Knight Rises today. AMC Theaters and others that ticket through Fandango are selling tickets for midnight showings the night of July 19, and for the marathon program featuring all three of Nolan's Batman movies, which also take place on the 19th.
