In one week, Super Bowl LI will take over television ratings. Millions of Americans will be glued to the small screen, and while many are interested the big game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, plenty are just interested in the commercials that will take the coveted 30-second spots that cost an average of $5 million this year.
Most of the commercials will be for beer, chips, cars and whatnot, but there will be some spots pushing some of the upcoming movies of 2017. A couple expected blockbuster spots will be hitting the air, but there may be some surprises as well. So which 2017 Super Bowl trailers can we expect to see? Read More »
In less than two months, a new King Kong movie with Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Brie Larson, Shea Whigham, Tom Hiddleston, and Jason Mitchell comes out. Let’s hope the movie is as good as that sounds, and that it’s as good as it looks because Jordan Vogt-Roberts‘ follow-up to The Kings of Summer looks like one big, intense popcorn movie. Did I mention Vogt-Robers film also stars John Ortiz (Togetherness)? He hasn’t been featured prominently in the marketing materials, like the Kong: Skull Island TV spots below, but he’s in it, which is another valid reason to want to see Samuel L. Jackson and a band of soldiers take on some giant monsters.

We’re less than a month until we get a new movie featuring the Dark Knight in theaters. However, this take on Batman will be far more lighthearted than the one we saw in last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The LEGO Batman Movie has Will Arnett voicing the building block version of the Caped Crusader, reprising the role he masterfully played in The LEGO Movie a few years ago. It’s one of my most anticipated movies of 2017, and a couple new TV spots show off some new footage from the comedic take on Batman, complete with a showcase of how badass Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, is going to be in this movie.

Ensuring that there will be at least one great action movie this year, John Wick: Chapter 2 is hitting theaters in about a month. Keanu Reeves is back as the titular assassin, and he looks even deadlier this time.
A new John Wick 2 TV spot has arrived online, featuring a couple awesome new moments of action, including a sequence that takes place in a room full of mirrors, and a chase that doesn’t end so well for one motorcyclist. As Ian McShane cautions to a soon-to-be-dead bad guy, “You stabbed the devil in the back, and now he’s coming again.” So Keanu Reeves will really be the devil this time, instead of The Devil’s Advocate.

LEGO Batman may have a mansion, plenty of wonderful toys, and a loyal butter, but he has zero friends. The caped crusader keeps busy saving Gotham and doesn’t have the best social skills, so he’s a bit of a loner in desperate need of a pal. The LEGO Batman Movie — which director Chris McKay describes as a cross between Michael Mann and About a Boy — follows Batman on his quest for happiness.

A batch of new Legion promos have been released, meaning we get to see more of actor Dan Stevens looking bug-eyed, paranoid, and all-around awesome in FX’s upcoming series. The star of The Guest and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast remake is a considerable part of Legion‘s appeal. Yes, it’s run by Fargo creator Noah Hawley, which is reason enough to check out the series, but Stevens is one of those actors you want to keep an eye on. Since he continues to impress in a wide variety of roles, we’re excited to see him bring his versatility to FX’s new show.

Beauty and the Beast is getting closer and closer with the release just over a couple months away. A bunch of TV spots are hitting the small screen to remind everyone that it’s coming out, but with all the record-breaking trailer views the live-action remake of Disney’s animated classic has racked up, I think it’s safe to say everyone knows about it.
Disney loves to have as big of a crowd as possible though, so it should come as no surprise that they debuted a new Beauty and the Beast TV spot during the Golden Globes tonight. There’s a good amount of new footage for those looking to see every bit of Belle (Emma Watson) and The Beast (Dan Stevens, covered in visual effects) of this new spin on the classic tale, and we also have a new poster to check out as well.

We’re just a little over a month away from the release of The LEGO Batman Movie, giving us the building block version of The Dark Knight, who stole more than a few scenes in The LEGO Movie a few years back. Will Arnett is back in the lead voice role, and quite the assembly of talent surrounds him, playing various characters from Batman’s mythology, some of which we’ve never seen on the big screen before. But a new TV spot focuses on one of Batman’s staple characters, his loyal sidekick Robin.
Michael Cera voices The Boy Wonder, but this version of Batman is just as resistant to working with a partner (or anyone really), simply because he’s afraid of losing anyone who gets close to him again. It’s actually kind of sweet, even if LEGO Batman isn’t a fan of hugs. You’ll see what I mean in a new The LEGO Batman Movie TV spot after the jump. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Not enough moviegoers embraced Brad Silberling‘s A Series of Unfortunate Events movie to launch a franchise, but perhaps we’ll finally get to see entire 13-part story adapted with Netflix’s upcoming series, which continues to look promising. The marketing materials have focused a little more on the comedic and heightened elements of author Daniel Handler‘s books, not so much the bleakness of the Baudelaire children’s predicament. But this promo, featuring Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton), is here to remind you of the hardship and danger they’ll face in the series.
Below, check out the Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events promo and new images from the series.

The Main Street Electrical Parade is my favorite of all the Disneyland parades. Maybe it’s the retro synthesized soundtrack that accompanies the nighttime floats, or maybe it’s the fact I first saw the parade as a young boy and fell in love with it. Even though Disney’s newer versions of the nighttime show like Paint The Night are technologically better in every way, it was unable to recapture the charm of this 1972 classic.
The parade has been at Disney World’s the Magic Kingdom for the last six and a half years, and on January 20th, 2017 the parade will return to Disneyland’s Main Street for a limited time five-month run marking the 45th anniversary of the parade. And Disney has begun marketing the return with an impressive television commercial. Watch the Main Street Electrical Parade commercial now after the jump.
