The Dark Tower TV Spots

Sony Pictures is bringing the long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King‘s book series The Dark Tower to theater at the beginning of August. The first trailer for the sci-fi western was more confusing than anything, especially for anyone who isn’t familiar with the book series, though our trailer breakdown may have helped a bit.

Now some TV spots for The Dark Tower have started hitting the small screen, presumably taking advantage of the audience watching the NBA Finals, and while they don’t really do much to explain the story more, they do show off more of Idris Elba slinging guns like a badass while Matthew McConaughey threatens to turn the world into hell.

Spider-Man Homecoming NBA Finals TV Spot

We’re in the full swing of blockbuster summer and now that Wonder Woman is in theaters, it’s time for the next comic book movie on the docket to start making its big marketing push, and that’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is returning to the big screen with his own new franchise, this time with Tom Holland reprising the role of the webslinger that he first played in Captain America: Civil War as part of a special collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Both studios want to make sure you don’t forget about Spidey swinging into theaters this summer, especially if you’re watching some professional basketball.

A new Spider-Man Homecoming NBA Finals TV spot continues the narrative that began in the first promo with Peter Parker being invited to Tony Stark’s NBA Finals party. This time he’s being sent on an errand with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) asking him to get some snacks for the party. Plus, this one features a special cameo at the end. Read More »

Spider-Man Homecoming TV Spot

Hot on the heels of the two new trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming released earlier this week (along with our breakdown of the new footage in each of them), a new extended TV spot has arrived, showing off even more footage from the rebooted Spidey franchise that is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Taking a cue from the international trailer, we get to see a bit more of the flashback to Tom Holland‘s introduction as Spidey in Captain America: Civil War from Peter Parker’s personal video diaries that he took before and during the battle, including how he got his suit from Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) beforehand. Plus, we get a glimpse of a couple new webs that Spidey can weave with his new high tech suit.

Spider Man Homecoming TV Spot

And if there’s one takeaway so far from all of this film’s marketing, it’s that they really, really want everyone to know that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is a big part of Homecoming.

War for the Planet of the Apes TV spots

If Matt ReevesWar for the Planet of the Apes is as good as its trailers make it out to be – and we have no reason to think it won’t live up to that high bar – that should put these movies in the conversation of the best cinematic trilogies ever made. The two films before this one, especially Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, are tremendous pieces of pop storytelling, and though the new one looks to take a darker turn, it’s exactly where this story has been heading from the start.

20th Century Fox has unveiled two new War for the Planet of the Apes TV spots as a nice chaser for the new trailer that dropped earlier this week. Check them out below.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Last night’s MTV Movie & TV Awards brought the first clip from Spider-Man: Homecoming featuring Peter Parker (Tom Holland) trying to sneak back into his room, only to accidentally reveal that he’s Spider-Man to his friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon). Now we get another look at this summer’s reboot of the Spider-Man franchise with a TV spot that shows off some new footage.

In this spot, we get to see Spider-Man taking on some small-time criminals while still being hungry for the next “retreat” that he gets to go on with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and the Avengers. But the best part is the funny gag at the end where Spider-Man inadvertently scares the hell out of some kids camping in their backyard.
