‘Flatliners’ Legacy Cameo Revealed In New TV Spot

Flatliners cameo

Joel Schumacher’s 1990 sci-fi horror movie Flatliners is undoubtedly a goofy film, but it’s also a stylishly directed, visually striking piece of work from a filmmaker that’s often unfairly derided for his later superhero work (hey, Batman Forever is pretty good!). It also has a killer cast that included then-up-and-comers like Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, and Oliver Platt, and now we know that one of those actors will also appear in the upcoming remake/sequel, too. And based on that selection of names, the culprit may not be who you think.

Join me below to watch a new TV spot that gives away the Flatliners cameo, and while you’re there, stick around for a full trailer for the new version.

Kingsman The Golden Circle TV Spot

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a movie with energy to spare. Matthew Vaughn‘s spy movie moves fast with an infectious giddiness about itself. The director’s enthusiasm for this world of spies and super villains is unmistakable. Next month, that world is going to get bigger with the sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which looks every bit as playful as the first movie.

Below, watch the new Kingsman: The Golden Circle TV spot.

Kingsman The Golden Circle TV Spot

Even though summer may be over in a few weeks, September will be bringing us a blockbuster sequel that looks to be worthy of the season, but smart enough to avoid getting lost in the shuffle with the rest of the studio tentpoles.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to the original Kingsman: The Secret Service, an adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book of the same name, published by his own Millarworld banner, which just got picked up by Netflix this week. This time, the British secret agents must seek the help of their American cousins, known as the Statesman, as their own headquarters has been blown off the map by a new threat. A new TV spot shows more of the action from the comic book sequel, including Taron Egerton and Colin Firth back in action together, this time fighting alongside each other as equals.

With The Dark Tower receiving almost entirely negative reactions (our own Josh Spiegel couldn’t believe how lifeless it is), Stephen King fans are probably ending their week in a sour mood. However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon. That is, if you define “hope” as a shapeshifting entity that devours children and often takes on the appearance of a menacing clown named Pennywise.

Andy Muschietti‘s upcoming adaptation of It is a little over a month away from release and the marketing floodgates have begun to open. While some may argue that King fans need to stop getting their hopes up, I can’t help but be excited for this one. A new TV spot, and the news that four minutes of the movie will premiere in theaters next week, are only fueling the fire.

The House TV Spots

In just a couple weeks, The House will be open for business as the R-rated comedy starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler hits theaters. The film follows two suburban parents faced with the prospect of having no money to send their daughter to college, so their friend Frank (Jason Mantzoukas) helps them open an illegal, underground casino in his house for a month in order to make enough money to afford tuition.

Instead of just quickly making the money, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler take to the casino business like a couple characters in a Martin Scorsese movie, and when the casino starts getting the attention of local authorities and crime bosses, they find that they’re completely out of their league. You can see more of the shenanigans in the comedy in The House TV spots, now featuring Jeremy Renner. Read More »
