This weekend marked the start of Daylight Savings Time in the U.S., and that means the past 36 or so hours have been rough for a lot of folks. At some point in the wee hours of Sunday morning, an hour simply vanished into thin air, leaving us with one less hour to sleep, or work, or spend time with our families, or binge-watch House of Cards, or whatever else we’d normally do with that time.
Now a new Alice Through the Looking Glass spot wonders where that time went, and suggests Sacha Baron Cohen, as the embodiment of Time itself, might have had something to do with its disappearance. Check out the newest footage from the James Bobin-directed fantasy adventure below. Read More »

It’s safe to say that we’re very much looking forward to Jeff Nichols‘ upcoming science fiction film Midnight Special. It made my personal most anticipated movies of 2016 list and it topped the list of our own Jack Giroux. After all, what kind of self-respecting film fan isn’t interested in seeing the director of Mud and Take Shelter channel the likes of Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter? Heck, what kind of self-respecting film fan doesn’t want to watch any movie Michael Shannon stars in by default?
Three new Midnight Special TV spots have arrived online, showcasing a few snippets of new footage from this film, which has done a fine job of keeping plot details scarce in its previous trailers. These follow suit, teasing a tone and a great cast while sidestepping potential spoilers.

The marketing for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been a real rollercoaster ride. For every trailer or clip that promises something truly special and unique, there’s been another that’s downright embarrassing. For every killer moment and tremendous shot, there’s the reminder that there’s a scene where Batman asks Superman if he bleeds. I continue to have faith that Batman v Superman will be an interesting movie and hopefully a great one. As card-carrying member of the Man of Steel fan club – There are dozens of us! Dozens! – I cannot wait to see what director Zack Snyder does when he’s allowed to fully run wild with the DC universe.
Will this new batch of Batman v Superman TV spots change any minds? Probably not. Like so many of the previews so far, these things have a split personality, showing off the movie I want to see (Fun! Big! Weird! Energetic!) and the movie I’m dreading. You know, the movie where Batman has to teach Superman “what it means to be a man.” Ugh.

Even though The Jungle Book is over a month away, Disney seems to be anticipating quite an audience for their live-action re-telling of Rudyard Kipling‘s classic novel. Tickets are officially on sale for the film that features an all-star cast voicing animals brought to life entirely by visual effects. In fact, almost the entire movie is being created with the use of visual effects, not unlike Avatar or Gravity.
Now a new TV spot shows off some more of the magnificently created animals, including more dialogue from the likes of Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Khan and Christopher Walken as King Louie. The more I see of this movie, the more I’m impressed and curious to see how well this tale is brought to life in this way. Read More »
The early buzz on Zootopia is that in addition to some fine family comedy, it also packs some surprisingly poignant social commentary and a powerful message that everyone can probably take something away from when the credits roll. And of course, there will also be endless animal puns in Disney’s comedy that imagines a world where animals live like humans.
Now the puns are in full swing again with the latest marketing push from Disney, using the Academy Awards this weekend as inspiration to make some new parody posters of the nominees, along with a new TV spot. Check out the new Zootopia posters and TV spot below. Read More »

Even though it feels like it’s been an election year for much longer than a couple months, this year is officially the year when we elect a new President of the United States of America. And while the craziness of the primaries unfolded last night with yet another political debate between potential presidential candidates, an all too appropriate TV spot debuted for this year’s action thriller sequel The Purge: Election Year debuted, taking cues from the political ads that we all get sick of seeing.

When Super Bowl 50 unrolled a bunch of new TV spots for some of this year’s biggest movies, The Jungle Book got an impressive new full-length trailer that finally showed the incredibly realistic computer generated animals talking. Even though it’s a little strange to see such incredibly detailed animals speaking like humans, it works surprisingly well.
Now a new TV spot gives us a little more from the new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic book about a boy (newcomer Neel Sethi) raised in the jungle who finds his life threatened by Shere Khan (Idris Elba), a tiger hellbent on keeping any trace of men out of the wild. In a new The Jungle Book TV spot, the panther Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) decides he’ll take Mowgli back where he belongs. Read More »

There are still another three months before Alice Through the Looking Glass opens in theaters, but Disney knows it can’t afford to be late for its very important date. So it’s wasting no time getting the word out for the fantasy sequel, which brings Alice (Mia Wasikowska) back to Wonderland.
James Bobin replaces Tim Burton in the director’s chair this time around, and Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans join returning stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, and Anne Hathaway in the cast.
