Gone Girl TV Spot

Ben Affleck knows a thing or two about negative PR, but even his Gigli-era troubles have nothing on Nick Dunne’s. The latest Gone Girl TV spot stacks the deck against Nick, pegging him as the prime suspect in the disappearance of his beautiful wife Amy (Rosamund Pike).

Of course, if the case were that straightforward there’d be no movie for David Fincher to make. Fortunately, as those who’ve read Gillian Flynn‘s book know, he’ll have plenty of twists and turns to work with before reaching the ugly conclusion. Hit the jump to watch the new Gone Girl TV spot.

Boyhood TV spot

This Boyhood TV spot opens with something that communicates the unusual scope of the Richard Linklater film in just a few seconds.

A set of photos of the central character, Mason Jr. (played by Ellar Coltrane) flashes by in quick succession, illustrating his growth from age 6 to age 18. While the feature itself is a terrific vision of the growth of the boy and the family around him, that parade of images is a perfect way to condense the film into just a few seconds. The spot continues from there, of course, and you can watch the whole thing here. Read More »

Chris Pratt From Guardians of the Galaxy

Matt Ferguson - Guardians of the Galaxy header

According to writer/director James Gunn, Thursday night’s NBA Finals game will include both 30- and 60-second commercials for his upcoming Marvel adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy. No need to wait for Lebron James and Tony Parker to suit up, though, as the first spot has already appeared online. It has a few awesome new shots including a few of Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser (he’s the hooded guy at the beginning) and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) affirming the badassness of the Guardians. It’s super cool.

And if that’s not exciting enough, the Poster Posse – an international group of artists who do art based on the same upcoming movies – have released the first batch of art for Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s some truly beautiful and interesting stuff to be seen, including an already iconic mash-up of the 1977 one sheet for Star Wars by Matt Ferguson. Check out the Guardians of the Galaxy fan art and TV spot below. Read More »
