The breakfast Club Criterion Blu-ray

(Welcome to Not Dead Yet, a feature dedicated to what’s new on Blu-ray and what special features you should be excited about. Because yes, some of us still like to own physical copies of our movies.)

Happy New Year! 2018 is just getting started – there’s going to be a whole slew of exciting new Blu-ray titles to hit shelves this year. But first, here are some so-so films!

What we mostly have here are what I’d like to think of as holiday leftovers – films that weren’t big enough to hit stores as part of the holiday shopping rush. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing of value here. In fact, there are some surprisingly good titles, including a Jackie Chan movie that rises above its premise, a Watergate-based drama, a survivalist film where Kate Winslet and Idris Elba crash a plane and then get sexy, and more. There’s also a surprisingly controversial new release from The Criterion Collection. Here are the new Blu-ray releases you should check out this week.

I’ve put together a jam-packed new Blu-ray round-up for you to close out the year. There’s a lot of good stuff here, including one of Christopher Nolan’s best films; a polarizing horror movie from Darren Aronofsky; a surprisingly honest biopic; a harrowing Kathryn Bigelow drama based on a true story; yet another one of those dang Lego movies; a spy sequel; and a true crime miniseries. Here are the new Blu-ray releases you should check out this week.

David Lynch‘s stunning Twin Peaks season 3, also known as Twin Peaks: The Return, comes to Blu-ray as a must-have box set loaded with fascinating and revealing looks behind the production. Just as they did so many years ago, David Lynch and Mark Frost have created a TV event unlike any other before, and probably unlike anything that will ever come after it. New Blu-ray Releases

(Welcome to Not Dead Yet, a feature dedicated to what’s new on Blu-ray and what special features you should be excited about. Because yes, some of us still like to own physical copies of our movies.)

It’s time for another round-up of physical media. Are you like me – living in the past and unable to give up material possessions? If so, you prefer good old fashioned physical media like Blu-rays to just going digital. There’s something more special (at least in my broken brain) about displaying your Blu-ray collection on a shelf than just purchasing something digitally and then forgetting all about it. With the actual physical disc, it’s always there, in front of you. Or maybe I’m crazy!

This week’s Blu-ray roundup features one of the coolest action movies of the year, a somber, snowy drama, a five-film box set, and a documentary about cats. What more do you need, folks? Here are the new Blu-ray releases you should check out this week.

Spider-Man Homecoming Blu-ray

(Welcome to Not Dead Yet, a feature dedicated to what’s new on Blu-ray and what special features you should be excited about. Because yes, some of us still like to own physical copies of our movies.)

It’s time for another round-up of the best Blu-ray releases you can find this week. While some of you may have made the full switch to digital, I’ll be riding the Blu-ray train until this baby derails! There’s just something warmer about Blu-ray compared to digital; something more inviting. Or that could all be in my head.

This week’s Blu-ray column includes one of Marvel’s most enjoyable films, a Stanley Kubrick masterpiece, a fantastic film noir, one of the best directed films of 2017, a long-lost horror film, a not-so-classic recent horror film, and a bonafide Frank Capra classic. Here are the new Blu-ray releases you should check out this week.
