I can scarcely believe that it’s been almost one year since we first launched the /Film movie podcast. Many actors, filmmakers, and bloggers have made their way through our podcast doors and it’s been a blast to chat with all of them about movies and movie news. To celebrate, we’re going to be giving away a bunch of cool stuff this week and next week, with some special bonuses for those who tune into the show live this Monday night at 9 PM EST (Jeff Cannata from the Totally Rad Show will be joining us to review Terminator Salvation!).
This first giveaway combines two things that everyone loves: 1) Gigantic hardcover books, and 2) Movie art. In conjunction with Titan Books (which is releasing some great movie tie-in material for Salvation), the /Filmcast is giving away five copies of The Art of Terminator Salvation. To enter for a chance to win, just do the following:
1) Download the most recent episode of the /Filmcast.
2) Listen to the episode and wait until after the ending music to hear the three contest questions.
3) E-mail your name, mailing address, and the answers for the three questions to slashfilmcast(AT)gmail(DOT)com. Put Terminator Contest in the subject line!
That’s it! Winners (with correct answers) will be chosen at random and announced live on the air on Monday night at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST when we broadcast the /Filmcast live.
As always, feel free to subscribe to the /Film movie podcast using the following links:

Remember when George Lucas hid E.T. creatures in Star Wars: Episode I? Well apparently JJ Abrams did the same kind of thing in Star Trek, hiding the robot R2-D2 from Star Wars in one of the scenes (yes, the photo above is an obvious photoshop). I watched the film twice and definitely didn’t notice the little droid anywhere, so it must be a really obscure easter egg. I also haven’t seen any mention of the “cameo appearance” made anywhere online.
But Paramount Pictures has announced a contest, giving away an official prop from the film to one of the people who actually spotted the beeping droid. What scene in the new film Star Trek features the robot “R2-D2″ from Star Wars? Email your answer to facebook@paramount.com with “STAR TREK Easter Egg Sweepstakes” in the subject line. Full rules are listed on Facebook.
Paramount Pictures has also announced that NASA astronaut Michael Barratt will have the opportunity to watch the film aboard the International Space Station, while he and two crewmates fly 220 miles above Earth. How cool is that? You can read more in the official press release after the jump.

A smash hit from the moment of its 2000 debut, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION remains one of the most popular, innovative, and critically acclaimed crime dramas in television history. Created by Anthony Zuiker and executive produced by movie maven Jerry Bruckheimer, the thrilling series centers on the Las Vegas Police Department’s night-shift forensics unit, which utilizes cutting-edge technology to solve the often grisly crimes of a glamorous city whose constant influx of visitors makes it rife with criminal elements. Quick-witted detective Gil Grissom (William Petersen) leads the highly skilled investigative team that includes his single-mother partner, Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger); hair and fiber expert Nick Stokes (George Eads); former gambling addict Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan); and fresh-faced newbie Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), with the help of a tough-as-nails police captain, Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), and an efficient lab coroner, Dr. Al Robbins (Robert David Hall). Heavy on science, creative camera work, and uncomfortably graphic depictions of violence, CSI is praised by fans and critics alike for its consistently gripping and well-written storylines, often inspired by real-life cases. This collection presents the complete eighth season, which concludes the previous season’s nail-biting cliffhanger, in which Sara was kidnapped by the Miniature Killer, and features a crossover with WITHOUT A TRACE.

Citizens of Gotham City shall fear not when the heroic Caped Crusader and his crime-fighting chum, Boy Wonder, stop dastardly villains from de-hydrating the planet in the original full-length bat-film, BATMAN: THE MOVIE SPECIAL EDITION, arriving on high definition Blu-Ray Disc for the first time July 1st from Fox Home Entertainment. Starring Adam West (Batman) and Burt Ward (Robin), this 1966 spin-off of the popular “Batman” television series features all four of the hero’s most diabolical and cunning adversaries: the clown prince of crime, The Joker (Cesar Romero); the count of criminal conundrums, The Riddler (Frank Gorshin); the pompous waddling master of fowl play, The Penguin (Burgess Meredith); and the fiendish feline, The Catwoman (Lee Meriwether). Directed by Leslie H. Martinson (PT 109, Rescue from Gilligan’s Island), who later won a Golden Gryphon for his efforts, the colorful and over-the-top film featured a groovy and swank score by Academy Award® winner* Nelson Riddle.
Brimming with brand new and exclusive high definition bat-features, the Blu-ray Disc includes “Batman: A Dynamic Legacy,” a tribute to the caped crusader and look at Gotham’s evil villains in “Gotham City’s Most Wanted”; a 360 degree navigational tour of the Batmobile; and an isolated score in 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio (Lossless), an industry first for Blu-Ray Disc that allows viewers to listen to the score only. The Special Edition also includes interviews and commentary by actors West, Ward, and screenwriter Lorenzo Semple, Jr., featurettes, trivia track, galleries and trailers.
