Be An Extra In The Fighter

Want to be an Extra in David O Russell's The Fighter? Want to see Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale fight it out in a boxing ring? Do you live near Lowell Massachusetts? Details after the jump.

The Fighter is shooting three days of boxing scenes in Lowell MA on July 14th, 15th and 16th. Paramount Pictures is looking for unpaid extras to fill the stands for these scenes. You may or may not appear on camera in the final film. They will be providing free parking, and raffle prizes for CDs, DVDs, Gift Cards and more. It is no clear which scenes they will be shooting, but the casting company claims that it will be "one of the main scenes in the film," and it will feature both "Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale." The Fighter tells the story of Dicky Eklund (Bale), a real life boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded after a run of drugs and crime. Shepherded his half-brother "Irish" Micky Ward (Wahlberg), Dicky had a Rocky-like rise to the world lightweight championship. Ward fought throughout the mid-'80s and '90s, but he's best remembered for three battles with Arturo Gotti, two of which went down as the greatest in the history of the sport. Amy Adams recently signed on to play "a tough, gritty bartender and former college high-jumper" who ends up dating Wahlberg's character.
