Yesterday, Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) tweeted this vague response, igniting rumors that Johnson is in talks or cast in an upcoming DC Comics movie adaptation. Many fans responded to The Rock’s tease, but got no response. So what might The Rock have up his sleeves? Could there be a Warner Bros/DC Comics movie in the works? Or is The Rock just trying to get his fans talking (sometimes a lot of nonsensical buzz can turn into reality).
I remember back in 2007 that Johnson was attached to play Black Adam in a big screen adaptation of the Captain Marvel comic book Shazam!. Somewhere along the line, that project fell off the board. Has the project been rekindled? Or more likely, is Johnson in talks for another DC Comics property? If so which one?

After The Avengers hit theaters, I had the idea to record a short discussion about the potential future and possibilites for the Marvel movie universe. I consider myself a comic book reader and have a couple shelves of graphic novels to prove it. But I’ve found that know very little about the Marvel universe besides the origin stories and the more acclaimed story arcs of many of our heroes.
Infinity Gauntlet? Thanos? Guardians of the Galaxy? I obviously needed someone who had a better background in the mythology of the Marvel comic universe. So I invited Jeff Cannata, best known as a host on the popculture video web series The Totally Rad Show. I also invited /Film’s own Germain Lussier to the table as he puts together the daily Superhero Bits feature round-up, and knows a lot about the rumors and what has been said or leaked publicly.

20th Century Fox has finally released the first photos from Taken 2. Director Olivier Megaton‘s (Colombiana, Transporter 3) follow-up takes a twist on the original as Maggie Grace must help rescue Liam Neeson‘s character Bryan Mills after “associates of the villains he killed the first time around decide to get their revenge.” I saw some early footage at CinemaCon and it looked much better than it sounds (for example, Grace’s character isn’t turned into a complete badass Sarah Conner-type, and fun is had with her inabilities). Hit the jump to check out the first photos from the action sequel, along with a quote from Neeson.
