August Rush Movie Trailer

August Rush is a tough sell. I'm not sure many of the /Film readers will be interested in seeing such a film, but that won't stop you from being dragged on a Friday date-night to your local multiplex. From the director of Disco Pigs and the writer of Escape from New York comes the story of August Rush, an infant orphaned by circumstance. According to imdb, the story follows a charismatic young Irish guitarist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and a sheltered young cellist (Keri Russell) who have a chance encounter one night above New York's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake a orphaned boy. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger (Robin Williams), August (Freddie Highmore) uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth. Yes, this has all the signs of a date movie. Check out the trailer after the jump. August Rush hits theaters on October 17th 2007.
